First volume of the Doctor Who Storybook, Panini's replacement for the Doctor Who Annual after the BBC took the license to produce annuals back in-house following the success of Panini's 2006 annual. While the new BBC annual concentrated more on features, and had minimal story content, the Storybook consisted completely of new stories, as its name suggests, a mixture of illustrated prose shorts and comic strips, most written by established Doctor Who fiction veterans, including several writers working on the TV series, including future series head writer/producer Steven Moffat.
