With Doctor Who having, at the time of publication, been off the air for just under five years, this special was themed around the beginning and end of the series, with articles on the show's first and last stories, and a flip cover showing both the first Doctor and the seventh (last at that time) in the first and last TV stories. The issue included two comic strips, Are You Listening?, which starred the first Doctor, and Younger and Wiser, which starred the seventh and was a sequel to Are You Listening?
