anyone have a suggestion of who should play Dr. Strange in a movie?
Doctor Strange
Character » Doctor Strange appears in 4907 issues.
Dr. Stephen Strange was once a gifted but egotistical surgeon who sought out the Ancient One to heal his hands after they were wounded in a car accident. Instead, the Ancient One trained him to become Master of the Mystic Arts and the Sorcerer Supreme of Earth.
Who Should play Dr. Strange in a movie adaptation of him?
I know a lot of people know him for his work in comedies, but if you see a movie called a Simple Plan, you can see that Gary Cole could have the chops to pull it off.
If they made the Animated Movie into a live action movie just as how it is with Liam as Dr. Strange the movie would be perfect!!!
I love Liam Neeson, but I wouldn't pick him as Doctor Strange. I think he's too old for the role. I would personally prefer a younger actor to portray a younger Dr. Strange.
I agree with sora_thekey who says that if they use the plot they used for the "Doctor Strange: Sorcerer Supreme" animated movie, a younger and more cocky Stephen Strange would make more sense. Which is why I really like Johnny Depp in the role. Not to mention the man is a genius of an actor. His name recognition would also help sell and market the film.
In fact, if Baron Mordo is in the film (which would make sense if he is), that's who I would have Liam Neeson play. Imagine Baron Mordo believing that he is the rightful heir to the Ancient One's seat as Sorcerer Supreme. Mordo stays loyal to his master, but wonders if his time will come before it's too late because even Mordo is beginning to show his age. Suddenly, the Ancient One falls ail and is in his final stages. Just as Mordo believes his loyalty will finally be rewarded, he learns that he is not destined to be Sorcerer Supreme, but that Stephen Strange is.
Baron Mordo can not accept this. He's spent so many years devoting himself to the cause only to have all his efforts and loyalty thrown away. If he won't be given the Sorcerer Supreme honor, he will take it by force. And so the final battle is set: Baron Mordo (Liam Neeson) vs. Dr. Strange (Johnny Depp).
The young vs. the old.
The old vs. the new.
The veteran vs. the rookie.
has to be liam neesen if he had his raz look from batman returns all they would need is a costume and could start filming lol
"@danhimself said:"MAGNUM P.I.!!!!!!!!!!!! aka Tom Selleck ""
LOL, too much, LOL
liam looks the role, but so would a lot of people with the facial hair, lol
can't think of any one right now but had to comment on Magnum, ROFLOL *wipes eyes*
Rufus Sewell, Gary Oldman or Timothy Dalton as possible name recognition stars. If going with an unknown I'd say Cliff Simon. Julia Stiles would be my choice as Clea.
Liam Neesen is a good choice.
I read that Jonny Depp is going to retire soon cuz he is going blind. Already legally blind in one eye.
Dr Strange was a surgeon before he discovered the Ancient One. An older person is better IMO. Plus, time is all relative to Dr Strange if you take into account the the war he was apart of witht he Trinity of Ashes
Ill toss out a choice
Daniel Day Lewis
No one is better than Jim Caviezel (Count of Monte-Cristo) he looks the quintessential Strange
Oh man, seriously?
Jack Huston from Boardwalk Empire.....
He would be great!
Oh God please NO!!! He would be playing Edward Scissorhands, who would be playing Captain Jack Sparrow, who would be playing Tonto, playing Dr. Strange. Don't do this to one of my favorite characters.
@silver_knight75: Luke Evans(from Immortals, Furious Six and Desolation Of Smaug)
If not Luke, then Anson Mount and Pedro Pascal are my other favourites for the role alongside Viggo Mortensen.
