I think he became immortal once he said, "By the hoary #%*ing hosts!"
Best line so far this year. Thank you Brian K. Vaughan.

Doctor Strange: The Oath, issue 2. It's a 5 ish mini. I'm normally not too crazy about Strange. I appreciate him but he's always been kinda dull to read. This series has been great. Again thanks to Vaughan. Issue 3 is out.

Strange is almost ageless and cannot die of natural causes. This was granted to him when he faced Death. This was in the seventies, I think.
Also, he could always trascend post-mortem the same way he made the Anctient One do and store his own soul somewhere if he needed...
Edit: According to wikipedia this was in 1973, however I'm not so sure of that. I will investigate further...

You took out my picture. I'll have you killed for that. Too bad I don't have the money to actual hire someone to kill you.

I took it out since it wasn't the real image. For some reason I can't get it to show here. Darn that Strange.

In The Oath he nearly did die, so he's not immortal.

Nearly but didn't. Hmmm....

The reason he didn't isn't because he's immortal though. It's because he was able to get help.

He can't die of normal causes. A bullet is not a normal cause.

He can still die, which means he isn't immortal.

Now I never said he was immortal. Buuuut if his body dies, what happens to his astral body? Could he still live on in another realm?

The Ancient One does because of him. So I'm guessing he could.

Yeah it's all debatable. So maaaaaybe he's immortal but his physical body isn't. I'm fine with it being listed either way. If we do keep him as immortal, it should definitely be stated that he has this little loophole.
I never thought I'd be posting so much about Doctor Strange.

last time i checked, he's far from immortal! in fact, it was in one of the recent new avenger issues, around issue 32 or so, give or take a few issues, he said to iron fist, that he took over the role as iron fist, as someday, someone will take over the role of sorcer supreme from him (strange) which leads one to believe, that these roles, iron fist, sorcerer supreme, are roles taken over by different people through the ages! so, no, I don't believe the role Sorcerer Supreme does not grant the title bearer immortality! otherwise stephen strange would not have had the chance to become sorcerer supreme if the previouse sorcerer supreme had not passed on/moved on! if any of that makes sense!

I Believe In The Fact That Doctor Strange Is Immortal, Immortal In My Mind Meaning He Can't Die From Natural Causes (I.E. Disease, Old Age, etc..) But If Someone Stabs Him In The Head, Yeah, I Think He'd Die.
