Hey, I'm new to this, so maybe this has been answered but I couldn't find it.

So here's my question: Why doesn't Doom (or Stark, for that matter) make their armor out of adamantium.  I know Doom's isn't (Sentry couldn't have ripped his mask off if it was).  And I'm almost certain Victor could afford it.

Doom made his Armor out of several materials to simply infact all the possibilities he can to not be harmed, for example, Adamantium, wolverine has adamantium and can EASILY be thwarted by magneto, whom doom also encountered and knows of, so, Basically his Armor consists of a long range of diffrent materials in an anti-magnetic structure.

Iron Man on the other hand needs a light structure to stay airborn and together with "Extremis" its another advantage as for manuvering. Think Starks current armor consists of diamond or something.

Well, why not Vibranium? (Is that magnetic?)

All Metal's are magnetic in a way or two but the trick is to anti-magnetize it. Thus, we never really know what dooms armor is made of, since the rough description only says"alien metals and other selected ornaments" bladiblidibla, believe me, if Doom thought Vibranium for a good idea he'd have it built in, if he didn't then he didn't.

Here's another thing he's got built in just in case you don't believe me.

After Adamantium has set (from it's molten state) it is inflexible / rigid.
If you were to have your armour made from segmented plates like Iron Man's armour you could make it from Adamantium.
If you intended the armour to be less articulated, then you would either need to have magnetic powers as great as Magneto's (he pulled the admantium off Wolverine's skeleton) or you would need to have an inbuilt molecular reaaranger like Ultron does.
Both Doom and Stark could easily have afforded to construct such armours and Stark actually did create a variant armour that had a outer layer (I think) of Adamntium but it was a specialised armour.

As to why they have not done upgrade, I could not tell you.
That fact that both Doom and Stark have to employ magnetic reinforcement of their armours should suggest that they have an obvious power drain to maintain structural reinforcement and that this may be able to be simply eliminated by selection of a superior base material. Seems quite straight forward.

It would seem redundant after Ultron.
