I agree somewhere close to Impulse Age would be fine and actually find an actor with Black hair and not some light head like chris in batman forever.

Not Nightwing because of the with in the time line but maybe a young Dick Grayson in a similar set up as Red K describes.
There was talk of a series called the Grayson based during Dick's circus days but I'm glad the idea got canned. Canned see how it would've worked when Dick's parents died when was so young and he pretty much went straight to being Robin.
