As the first Robin, Dick Grayson was the most famous sidekick in comic book history. As he ventured forth on his own, he formed the Teen Titans and became their leader. When the boy became a man, he became the independent hero known as Nightwing.
@SmoothJammin: In teen titans 1 there is a photo of him as robin with batman and in scott snyders batman there a a bit with bruce and all the former robins (minus jason) were next to each of he past robins it says they were a past robin and tim was a past robin.I think most of batmans history is intact and i think a bit of it takes place before the five years So IMO i think when bats showins up in jl 1 thats him just comeing in to the public eye but he has been batman for few years before the JL1
@Icarusflies: Then Scott contradicted himself lol. Retcon I guess. Pretty sure I heard from SDCC Tim went straight to Red Robin alias

@SmoothJammin: He DID contradict himself. : /
I don't really think that Lobdell contradicted himself but that editorial made him make the change after things had already been written and published....the editors for the Teen Titans books are seriously the worst editors at DC
