It's almost September. The early word is still mixed but most people are excited for DC's "The New 52." One character in particular is Dick Grayson. Dick has recently shown readers he has been a more than capable replacement for Batman. So why is he returning to his Nightwing persona? Higgins did tell us back in July that he's simply going back to who he was. He may have kicked ass as Batman but it was never who who was. He is Nightwing.

Today, Kyle has posted some new images on his facebook from Nightwing and it amps up the excitement for September even more.

As soon as I saw this image, I asked Kyle what he had to say about it.

He's back and he's better than ever!

That says it all.

If that wasn't enough, here's a picture of someone Deathstroke will be dealing with called Road Rage.

Road Rage will appear in Deathstroke #2 and according to Higgins, "The 405 will never be the same..."

Nightwing looks good though

Nightwing great.  Deathstroke...eh.  Road Rage looks like something out of the Mad Max movies.

While I prefer Nightwing's blue & black costume, it's nice to have a change now and then.  Looking forward to this series.  The story sounds intriguing.

Deathstroke in the 21st century he looks like got a major upgrade & was Road Rage sent in by someone in the 6th grade lol no offense to our 6th graders

Nightwing does look cool

nightwing looks like robin from the george clooney version of batman. i like it a lot, but thats what it reminds me of...i prefer the blue black though. 
 
deathstroke looks less like a human and more like...more like they just decided to make a body out of shapes, he looks terrible, i prefer old deathy. and road rage is a transformer gone shitty.

The update looks better in my opinion.

Nightwing looks like he's about to fall out of the sky.  The other designs are lackluster - Road Rage looks like a high schooler's drawing.

I just can't feel good with NIghtwings new look...always wanted him back in this persona but not in RED!!  
It just doesn't feel right...

The more I see of Nightwing, the more excited I get, but I am going to miss Dick as Batman.

Unless they change the type of fighter/Merc Deathstoke is I don't like the new bulk.

The red on Nightwing's costume looked pretty cool. I didn't like it in other versions.

Kyle Higgins needs a big bitch slap on the face. Dick is DICK Grayson. Not Batman and especially not Nightwing. Hes Dick Grayson. Nightwing is just a disguise. Why cant he get that?

So Deathstroke is slicing off J Jonah Jameson's head off. That's great!  
 
His redesign is an abomination though. There was nothing wrong with his old costume and look. He already looked badass. Stupid DC had to ruin my favorite villain.

My thoughts: 

1. Nightwing: Looks good but I don't see the point of the red in the costume. So now we have Red Nightwing, Red Hood, and Red Robin. Again, it looks fine but I don't think it looks any better than it would with blue.
2. Saiko: Looks interesting. If the story is solid then I'm down for figuring out this character. I'm assuming it's a villain from the vicious throat chopping of police officers.
3. Road Rage: Looks like a parody of the 90s. 
4. Deathstroke: Please just lose the Conan sword.

Nightwing could turn out to be the best  of the new 52.

The red symbol on Nightwing is just too big in my opinion. I liked the thinner one. And he's a little on the ridiculously shinny side. Did anyone else notice that?

I loved his old costume, but this one isn't that bad..

 I dont know if i really like the whole red thing on Nightwing. Blue was fine for me, but i guess i'll check it out.

I hate to be pessimistic, but not one of those pictures conjures any excitement from me. Nightwing just looks...there I suppose, but maybe the other pages look great. Road Rage, I don't even..that's the most original thing they had? Looks like a generic enemy from a JRPG. And does Marvel know J. Jonah Jameson is dead now?

Road Rage could go either way from what I see. Deathstroke wasn't really in need of a new costume, or at least not such a drastic change. That harness looks to be unnecessarily bulky and constraining and his sword looks ridiculously off balance, unlike his more reasonable original blade.

Nightwing: heck yes! they even gave him that cheesy 80s hair he had in the wolfman perez titans stuff.

His name even makes him sound like a decepticon! and y is he fighting Deathstroke of all people? ya know wut.......since theyre tryin so hard to push the EPIC of this book down our throats form the covers alone, just rename the title Deathstroke: Steampunk Bad-A$$, in a lame 90s EXTREME font. give him a smoking, cussing shotgun and an android camel. It'll be great

The deathstroke pictures look horrible.. I like the Nightwing ones though.

Tbh i like the new redesign for Deathstroke. I like how DC is going with less of a tights look, not just for Deathstroke but with other characters too, like Batman and Superman's costumes look less like spandex and more like armor, sort of. 
Also, Nightwing looks awesome. I like the red.
