Another What if? scenario. Returning from the circus tour with Haly's, Dick's memorial show in Gotham generates enough buzz to attract guests from all over and becomes a huge success. Dick rides off this wave of momentum by using the funds earned to open up an exotic casino in Gotham(with no help from Bruce mind you). You know the type. Bengal tigers, elephants, showgirls, magicians, clowns ...the whole deal. This way he can maintain close ties to his carny friends and ensure them all a steady income. It's important the casino be tailored for Gotham's high rollers and accessible to it's corrupt underworld at the same time. Almost like Penquin's Ice Lounge, without the sleaziness or infestation of super villains. A place for organized crime meets in the VIP section, and spectacular death defying shows catered for men and women of refined tastes. Here, Dick can monitor and traffic any leads without having to depend on the Bat-signal, Babs, or the like. Yes this idea was inspired by Flashpoint. But it works soo well for Nightwing if you think about it. Dick's colorful, flamboyant personality fits right into the wheelhouse of being a media darling, and former ward of millionaire playboy Bruce Wayne. The only thing he'd need is a personal assistant who can run things while he's on patrol. That's when it might be clever to hire Mr. Haly's son as a figure head or vice pres. Can it work for him in the DCnU?

@RoboShark: He hasn't had a steady job in foreeeeeever. The best gig he's had has been with Haly's and so far he's been enjoying the ride. If he can set up shop in Gotham and put together all of his resources and affinity for people pleasing. He can interact with all of the big players in Gotham and build up his own dynasty. Bruce must get sick of him freeloading his gadgets all of the time lol. But seriously, maybe this way they can help each other out.

Higgins has mentioned that Nightwing is going to use methods that conflict with Batman's but they're differences that the both of them need to accept. Dick can supply Bruce with inside sources and other intel while Bruce agrees to share his toys to compensate. There's no need for Dick to milk all of Bruce's assets when he has plenty of skills of his own. This could establish their differences in styles and overall approach to crimefighting where Nightwing takes a more pro active stance and becomes a hero of the people and Batman prefers to lurk in the shadows and exist as a bogeyman who enacts vengeance upon criminals.

Naww.. not all casino's are corrupt. There's a middle ground bro. Ever been to a Hard Rock or Seminole Tribe Casino?(don't know how old you are)

With proper funding and help from Lucius or Sonia ;), Dick can pull off a classy, white collar type of casino. It'd be the perfect cover for a notorious gangster to work under when they're trying to convince law enforcement they're on the straight end. Who'd suspect Haly's Casino of housing crime meets and mafiosos? Dick can then wire the rooms these criminals are secured in, and tap in on entire conversations. He'd not only make more money, the supply of intel he'd recieve would prove invaluable to him as a crimefighter.

Yeah, but think of the morality behind a gambling house? It ruins people's lives all the time, I don't think Grayson would be down for that.
