Does he?
Dick Grayson
Character » Dick Grayson appears in 9487 issues.
As the first Robin, Dick Grayson was the most famous sidekick in comic book history. As he ventured forth on his own, he formed the Teen Titans and became their leader. When the boy became a man, he became the independent hero known as Nightwing.
Does Dick Grayson have a rival?
" Yes "I see...
" @blade hunter said:He's no Joker but he's a good H2H fighter." Yes "I see... "
" Him and Deathstroke I though had a sorta rivalry "I always considered DS his rival. Turning his daughter against him and all that.
Yep same here, Deathstroke killed hundreds of thousands in bludhaven, Jason kinda fought him a few times….. I'm pretty sure Deathstroke has him beat as far as the whole rivalry thing." @superboy12 said:

Deathstroke cannot be Greyson's rival because Deathstroke can crush Greyson any day of the week a rival has to be evenly matched.
" Jason is a great villain for Dick. I'd like to consider him as Dick's rival. "exacly
I think Jason has potential to be his greatest adversary but I'll always consider Deathstroke his one true nemesis. Bats will forever remember him as "the one who gave Dick trouble"..
Shrike was ceated to be NW's rival, which is why his colors clash with NW's (Black, Blue, Red, Yellow). NW was working in Bludhaven, and had defeated all of his new rogues, so Blockbuster had Shrike fight all of NW's rogues at once to test Shrike's skill, and Shrike beat them all. But NW dispatched of Shrike without even looking at him for half of the fight and then strung Shrike up on a flagpole in a humiliating defeat.
Jason rivaling Dick is PIS/WIS, even though the fanboyism is spreading. People like Jason cuz he's the badass of the robins, even though him having a skill level to match Dicks training has no logical backing to it. Even still that's what's being written. And some like it, some disagree with it, and some don't care.
Deathstroke has had the longest rivalry with NW. Even when Dick was Robin DS antagonized him, and was impressed with Dick's skills even then. NW and DS have the most history between each other than other enemies. NW also turned DS's daughter Rose against him, and promised revenge to DS after Slade ordered Bludhaven to be destroyed.
Shrike was defeated easily by both Cass and Dick. So i don't see him as a rival.
Jason i don't think should even be more skilled that Tim, yet here he is. He has also been defeated by Dick multiple times, but i digress.
I've always liked DS as the rival because he's the one who presents an actual challenge. DS's respect for NW and Bats' skill allows them to fight with meaning.
DS and NW is my favorite dichotomy, but that's just me.
" you really hate Jason huh? "I can't help but notice he does by reading his comment.
"you really hate Jason huh?"
I don't hate him, he just doesn't make sense. There are some cool concepts about him, and he's the rebel, which is cool. But he's been noted to be far less skilled than Dick was when he was Robin by Batman multiple times. (I just went back and read what i wrote, it did kinda come off as anti Jason Todd, apologies.)
Dick Grayson has had over a ten years of training with a guy who's learned every prominent style on the planet. Jason has had a little over one year, then some miscellaneous training afterward, then kicks the crap out of Batman? (Not literally, just continuously caught Bruce off guard, and actually posed a threat to Batman on multiple occasions), and his skills somehow rival Dick Grayson's. Tim Drake has had seven years under Bruce, along with some Shiva (smoehow he beat Shiva in a Bo staff fight *shrugs* i digress), Jason has beaten Tim at least 3 times. This is forgivable. His backstory is just inconsistent, and he's a step down from what Nightwing has faced even in his Robin years.
I don't see him as Dick's rival. That title has been Deathstroke's since forever ago. They both appreciate each other's skill, and it's a psychological and physical battle whenever they clash. But Dick is still in Bats' shadow, so he doesn't get written at where his skills should logically be.
Him being the middle robin, it's understandable to give him middle skill level. But Jason has continuoulsy evaded and confused Bruce (after the retcon anyway, during the Hush storyline), then fought him on nearly even terms in Under the Hood.
Ignore my venting. His story just doesn't make much sense to me. I'll see if there's any more clarification with Jason's new solo series.
But no i don't hate him. I just think him challenging Nightwing is PIS/WIS.
" @Son_of_Magnus: Well there's a card that isn't played that often..... I think it can be Jason. He's sort like an Anti-Nightwing. "
He actually was a "Nightwing" in brother's in Blood, but he used lethal force. Also there was a female Nightwing with TK powers.

" @velle37: No...you think Dathstroke is Nightwings rival, whike I think is Jason. "
No. i meant what do you think would happen if DS fought JT.
" @hydro 300 said:yup i agree with him the rivalry has there for so long, and its still on going up to now, in a recent issue of batman and robin, DS showed up to be the antagonist"For me Deathstroke ,because he betrayed him during Infinite Crisis and Dropped Chemo On Bludhaven. "They have a loooong rivalry... from even back when he was just Robin... "
" @Primmaster64 said:So I'm guessing your not reading Red Hood:Lost Days? While Jason only had that little bit of time with Bruce, Ra's revived him remember it was even flat out stated he spent a lot of that time training with masters of martial artist supposedly equal in caliber to the one's that trained Bruce. Now I'm not saying he's more skilled then Dick or Bruce, cause he's defifnantly not, im jsut saying he's recived a bit more training then you think.
