Finally this book is starting to get good.
I really liked the idea of this book, the art has always been strong and the wacky mash-up characters are fun for a while but it felt like the writer was really neglecting character development and motivation. Finally the writer has started addressing some of this. It clearly reads like a writer with a substance abuse problem. For almost a year the dialogue was often too choppy to comprehend and the scenes bounced all over the place without giving the reader enough info to fully understand what was going on, where the story was going or why they should care enough to by the next issue. But it seems like writer has finally "dialed" it back and is making a bit more sense. The leads relationship was greatly needed and is interesting and atypical. There is finally a clear antagonist with the beginnings of a real motivation. Hopefully, the people that dropped off early will come back around so this book doesnt meet the chopping block way too early like some other cool DC titles.
