I really liked the idea of this book, the art has always been strong and the wacky mash-up characters are fun for a while but it felt like the writer was really neglecting character development and motivation. Finally the writer has started addressing some of this. It clearly reads like a writer with a substance abuse problem. THE GOOD: Alberto Ponticelli does an amazing job penciling this issue. The sketchiness that he adds to the pages drastically changes the tone into grittiness and it seems to work by the end of the issue. The details that he adds to the panels gives you something to look at. The action also looks very fluid and vibrant.
