    Origin

    D'Gard was one of the Morlock-mutants whom survived the first slaughter by the Marauders. They later regrouped and started calling themselves Gene Nation.

    Creation

    D'Gard was created by Warren Ellis and Terry Dodson and first appeared in Storm issue 4 (1996).

    Major Story Arcs

    Leader of the Pack

    D'Gard later allied himself with Mikhail Rasputin whom became leader of the Morlocks. However, when the X-man Storm bested Mikhail in combat, she became their leader and told her Morlock followers that they should leave New York, where they would only be hurt, and go the African nation of Sudan. D'Gard was put in charge of the group, but Storm remained leader. D'Gard once more met Storm and other X-men when their camp was attacked by Humanity's Last Stand. After this attack, D'Gard told Storm that he would take over her leadership, but still had great respect for her.

    Weapon X

    Years later, D'Gard met with fellow Morlock Marrow. Although the thought it was a friendly visit, Marrow had gotten the assignment to kill D'Gard, a good friend of her during her Morlock days, in order to prove her loyalty to the Weapon X program. With pain in her heart, Marrow killed D'Gard.
