    In J. Michael Straczynski's retelling of Dr. Strange's origin, Devon was a childhood friend of Doctor Strange. Growing up together and entering the medical profession. Doctor Strange never suspected he was actually an agent of Dormammu, sent to derail Doctor Strange from ever realizing his true destiny.
