Is the is the end for Bruce Wayne/Batman? I think we all know the answer to that. I do have to say that if it is, this is a fitting end. Gaiman and Kubert gave us a wonderful trip in these two issues. And the last page was pretty freaky.

I'm loveing the Kibert/Gaimen teamup. The art is superrb & the story has my full attention. Also, the colors are nice & dramatic. Plus after years of people telling me that Batman is either Christian or Catholic, he turns out share my lack of faith in life after death & disbelief in heaven, earning personal bonus points with me.

This Issue was very good as it kept to the underlying tones presented in Batman 686. Like G-Man said it blew me away and presented an all new scope for Batman too come. Blackest Night will hopefully explore this venture as seen from recent solicits with Bruce actually being a Black Lantern, Or hinted at. Battle for the cowl is getting interesting and should tie in nicely with the release of Batman Arkham Asylum. Overall I can't wait for more.

this is the final part in Gaiman's "WHATEVER HAPPEND TO THE CAPED CRUSADER?". And just like the first part it is awesome. Andy kubert's art is once again awesome and it also parrells Gaimans talent as a writer. In the final pages Gaiman writes that Bruce as a child read the goodbye book and gaiman presents a ghost like version of martha to bruce telling him to say goodnight and goodbye to all his friends, villains and gotham and then he is reborn and given to martha wayne

I get it now, the point of this story is nostalgia. I can dig that, I love nostalgia. Problem is, it isn't aimed for me. It's for everyone who kept up with Bat's 70 year history. I caught the Adam West reference earlier, and the montage of some of the most famous stories was easy, but everything else went over my head.
The woman turns out to be one of the most important characters in Batman's history (that's all I'll say), and Bats realizes he's having a near death experience and all of this is in his mind. Yeah, yeah.
It was ok. The story would probably affect me more if two criteria were met:

It was ok. The story would probably affect me more if two criteria were met:
- If I actually knew everything about Batman's 70 years. (Not gonna happen.)
- If death in mainstream comic books wasn't a joke. Besides, Batman isn't even dead.
