In "The Black Mirror" part 1 of 3, a series of brutal murders pushes Batman's detective skills to the limit and forces him to confront one of Gotham City's oldest evils.

    Plus, in the start of a COMMISSIONER GORDON second feature also written by Scott Snyder, when a figure from the past returns to Gotham, Jim Gordon must face some of his darkest demons. Featuring; Art by Francesco Francavilla (GARRISON).

    I'll be the first to admit that ever since Batwoman left Detective comics, I've seriously considered dropping the title.  I was not a fan of the previous arc, but I figured new direction, new interest, Batman Inc., status I'd give the comic another shot.  When I tell you I was pleasantly surprised with the quality of this issue, I mean it.  This new 3-part arc starts off fresh and makes the read incredibly enjoyable.    Scott Snyder delivers an incredible story that is highlighted with Dick Gray...

    Batman and Gordon investigate a rash of bizarre,seemingly-unrelated crimes that have resulted because of ex-GCPD cops selling villains' gimmicks on the black market.  The Good The notion of super-villains weapons getting distributed to private crooks (almost like assault rifles) is a sensible extension of the "escalation" theme that's defined the Bat mythos.
