    He makes dolls out of his victims – and he's tired of being referred to in the media as the Gotham Strangler. His moniker is the Dollmaker, and he and his insane family are going to hunt down Gotham City's public figures and turn them into the ultimate collectables. As the Dollmaker ups the stakes, Batman finds himself in a race against time – because one of his allies is the Dollmaker's next target!

    Emphasis on "Detective" 0

    Easily the most misunderstood of the new 52's bat books, detective comics returns to the more isolated, shorter story arcs that have little to no effect on going continuity. I think the main reason this title is getting left behind critically is because people simply don't know what to do with it. A new villain, a much different take on the joker, and a loner batman, goes a long way to convince this reviewer that even if the story is supposed to take place in "present day" continuity it reads mu...

    A Tony Daniel Arc That Falls Apart Quicker Than Normal 0

    The Good: The designs for Dollmaker and his cronies is pretty awesome. There's a good sense of variety in them, in both form and function.Olivia's becoming a REALLY intriguing character.The 'shock' ending of this issue balances out a lot of elements to be the best end of the 3 issues thus far. 1 was REALLY shocking, but gets weird when you think about it. 2 was shocking, but a little flat due to the repetition; and 1 and 2 both fell flat with the lack of repercussions. 3 is shocking enough, and ...

    Newest Doll To Be 0

    In terms of what to expect out of Detective Comics, this issue basically has it all.  The torture porn themed story might not be the strongest vehicle for the first story arc out of the gates from the new 52, but there is a little bit of everything which makes a Detective Comics good in this issue.  There is a some crossing and double crossing, some action with the GCPD and perhaps most importantly some actual detecting.  With so many Batman titles on the market now it is nice to finally see one...
