    A dark, gripping story.. 0

Scott Snyder has turned Detective Comics into one of the best DC books and his current storyline has been nothing short of brilliant. And while this is the final issue of the "Hungry City" arc, it really sets the table for what's to come.  Snyder's story picks up with Batman captured by Tiger Shark and precariously dangling over a giant tank filled with a killer whale. This leads to some great insight into Tiger Shark, his intentions, and motivations. Snyder again shows his knack for writing cr...

Batman Fights a Killer Whale. What Could Be Better? 1

Another story arc by Scott Snyder and Jock comes to an end, leaving you just wanting even more as always with this creative team. Dick Grayson solves Sonia Zucco's case, encountering yet another new psychotic criminal looking to do business in Gotham City. And just when he concludes that business, even more serious problems begin to rear their heads. It is a fantastic issue that is only weighed down by the knowledge that this run will be over in a few months.  There is really just something very...

    Three Feet Deep 3

Dick comes face to face with the man behind the shakedown of Sonia Branch, Tiger Shark. Dare I say that dear old Dickie Boy's found his personal Joker?  The Good Apparently Dick was captured in between issues by Tiger Shark, normally I hate when things like this happen but Snyder uses it to provide an excellent opening sequence. Snyder's gone on to write the definitive Dick Grayson Batman story during his tenure on Detective. His total mastery of the ins and outs of Dick Grayson's psychology are...

    To The Bloody End 1

*SPOILERS WITHIN*  Yet again Scott Snyder crafts another fine Dick Grayson as Batman yarn - tying the story together brilliantly with yet another anecdote told from Dick's time as part of the Flying Graysons. And it pays off, big-time, come the end of this issue. I will try my best not to ruin the ending of the story, but I can not stress enough that if you are the type of person who feels faint at the sight of blood and gore, be warned for the finale has it all packed together in a single, horr...

    The Tiger Shark Strikes! 0

This issue of Detective Comics finishes off the "Hungry City" story arc and pits Batman (Dick Grayson) against the infamous Tiger Shark -- a pirate of international waters who has an affinity for rare items and endangered animal skins. While Batman fights against this new and merciless enemy, another dark force waits for him in the shadows. James Gordon is back in town, and what he's been up to may shock and disturb you.Written by Scott Snyder and drawn by Jock, Detective Comics #878 was a well-...
