    Review: Detective Comics #869 0

Batman finally finds the leader of the Jokerz, just as the leader of the impostor Batmen is revealed.  The Good I've rarely read a comic where the storytelling's been this involving. Hine and McDanil's dance hooks you in and makes you follow every little turn of the plot... and it makes even the most basic dialogue scenes that much more exciting. I really feel like I'm in Gotham City while I'm reading this, a bug on the wall for every aspect of this outlandish war between Batmen and Jokerz. Som...

    Bartholomew Fair 0

First off, I like how the authors took a historical fact, one that I knew nothing about until I researched it after reading this issue, and made it a part of this story.  The Batholomew Fair is and interesting twist on this story.  I like how this story of the impostor joker has woven.  I've just started with Detective Comics again with the beginning of this storyline.  I really like how it gives me the Batman I've always like... the detective.  Maybe I've been away from the Dark Knight for too ...

Just Read It. It's Insane. 0

The Good:  The tone is seriously dark, but the kind of dark that's always creeping up on you and breathing down your neck. Everything looks all 90's and cartoony, but that just makes it more unnerving. Batman says it all, "It's laughter... but it's not funny."Adding to that erie quality is the pacing of the story. Suddenly you find out that the first 2 issues, while they seemed to illustrate a long series of events, was really quite small in the scale of this story. This issue introduces a long ...

    When is this over? 1

I can't wait for this storyline to be over.  The art is second rate, the story is goofy.  I'm hoping the next issue is the beginning of the new story with a new writer.  As much as I love Joker, this isn't the Joker I really like.  This story line has made this book a little too comical for my taste.  So unless you've loved the series so far, you can just skip this one.  Although I have to give props, every cover in this run is WONDERFUL.   Just proving that this whole thing isn't all bad. ...

Let's turn that smile upside down 0

The third addition to the story arc by Hine and McDaniel. The writing was pretty bland in this issue. The part that was good is that the leader of bat impostors is actually self-aware that he is nothing like batman, and there's a sense he knows the consequences of his leadership and what his followers might cause. Also Hine seems to be keen on inserting little fun references here and there. Nice cliffhanger at the end. Still there's no telling which Batman is this. It should be Dick but it doesn'...
