I like Greg Rucka. He's got a knack for stories that feel grounded and real and seems to do his best work when dealing with military and espionage stories. There are even some great relationship scenes that give Kate Kane some serious depth but don't feel contrive. These military and character parts of the story are my favorite. It's when the Turner Classic Movies horror movie rejects show up that I become less and less interested. Why create such a real world only to destroy it with silly chara...

Batwoman: Secret Origin Pt 2 of 3 0

Greg Rucka and JH Williams III show us with Detective Comics #859 that this is the best Bat book out at the moment. This is the best Tec has been in years and Batman only in it for cameos. With Go, part two we find more out about Kate past. It's in this issue we see more of her love life and a small peek into the relationship with her father before she became Batwoman. We also see Renee Montoya before the events of 52 meeting Kate for the first time. Greg gives you a great story for the long awa...

After the riveting first issue in this story line, I wasn't sure what to expect next.  We take a jump a few years into the future... about thirteen if my math is right.  We find young Miss Kane, not so young anymore, and attending West Point Academy.  I guess the fact that she has joined the military is no huge surprise.   We find out more on the personal side of Kate Kane.  She's in love, but unfortunately, the love she has is not the kind allowed by the military.  I like who the writers gave h...
