“THE GREAT RIP-OFF MYSTERY!” Batman sets out to crack the case of a murdered courier carrying a briefcase full of torn halves of paper currency.

Batman stars in "The Great Rip-Off Mystery!" Batman interrupts a gun fight between a trio of villains and rescues an attache case full of money - with a difference. The case is full of dollar bills that have been torn in half - worthless unless the other halves can be found. Taking on the guise of the man who was carrying the case, Batman takes a flight, car and cycle ride (escaping various traps en route) to meet the man behind the hit, who has the other half of the money. As you would expect, Batman overcomes the crook.

The Atom stars in "Suddenly... the Witness Vanished!" As Ray Palmer is present in court watching his intended Jean Loring doing her job as an attorney, the witness she is questioning suddenly disappears. Quickly becoming the Atom, Ray deduces that the incident is linked to the time pool and goes to visit his old friend Professor Hyatt. Returning a hundred years to the past, Atom discovers the man he is looking for died in the Great Chicago Fire. Despite his best efforts, Atom cannot get the man back to the 20th Century and returns alone to our time via the time pool.
