    The Story So Far

Batman gets to the Batcave in time to neutralize whatever weapon was used against him last issue. In do so he discovers a way to defeat Mr. Toxic. Mr. Toxic and the original Hugh Marder force Dr. Manhart to use the particle accelerator to help undo what their previous experiments did to Marder. This will either work or potentially destroy Gotham. Batman shows up and uses his antidote and saves Marder's life.

Backup Story: Bullock messes with a rookie who is assigned to watch the Joker's face and we get a little, tiny, itty-bitty taste of the upcoming Joker coming up in Batman #13.

    Hit

The art is great as usual. The Mr. Toxic story line ends.

The backup story is fantastic. It is the absolute prefect teaser for the upcoming Joker story in Batman. It doesn't tell you anything about the story, but it totally puts you in the mode for a Joker story.

    Miss

All this sketchy science is this arc is really lame. Batman does have some sci-fi like villains, but I feel that this guy was just too much. Way too much explaining. This is Detective Comics, how about some real detective work? I like Tony Daniels, but I will be glad to see someone else take the reigns.

    Your Job

The only reason this issue makes it to 2.5 stars is because the art is still good and the back story is great. If there is way for you to not spend $4 on this while still being about to read the back story, I say do that. Otherwise this one should be a skip.

Now that I think about it, I think it's the coloring that bothers me with Tony Daniel's art lately. This cover doesn't utilize a lot of it, so it seems like it's better at first, but then I notice the little things I don't particularly like. However, the overall design is pretty nice. It's a little too close, but not so much so that it ruins the cover. In the interiors I took greater care to pay attention to this detail. Daniel's penciling is the same, and the inking is actually quite fitting. It...

      Good Prelude 0

I'v got to say so far I've been disappointed with Detective Comics as Snyder finished the previous series of brilliantly and Daniel did a good job with his previous work on the normal Batman comic so I don't know why it just isn't working.I've got to say I'm happy that Daniel is also doing the art again and hope he continues as he does a lot better art anyway. The thing I also like about Batman since he's returned and the same with a lot of the comics they are using new or not as well known vill...
