History

Despotellis' story begins in sector 119.  When Reemuz, the Green Lantern of Sector 119, returned to his homeworld after a long patrol around his sector, he came expecting a welcoming party. Instead, he found a mass planetary graveyard. Everything on the planet was dead, including his wife and children. Reemuz, attempting to catch the killer and locate survivors, flew throughout the planet hoping to find some clue as to what happened. Sadly, none culd be found. Alas, Reemuz collapsed from exhaustion and eventually perished. Just as Reemuz gave his last breath, something smaller than an ember floated out of him. The sentient bio-virus known as Despotellis. Soon after, Despotellis infected nearly all of the sector.

Despotellis infected Kyle Rayner's mother and killed her, just as Sinestro ordered. When the Sinestro Corps attacked Earth, Despotellis infected Guy Gardner, nearly killing him. Despotellis is currently within the lab of the Korugarian Green Lantern Soranik Natu.
