Plot Summary
Artist Liz Lawson and her dog Brutus find Tracey, an upset and angry young girl in the local fields. Learning that Tracey is a pop singer who has fled her tyrannical aunt and uncle, Liz encourages her to stay in a local cottage and enjoy a simple farm life for a while.
As the two girls become friends and Tracey begins to care for a lapwing's nest, she doesn't realise that the two hikers she helps will alert the local press to her whereabouts.
Tracey has to choose between her aunt and uncle's entreaties to resume her pop career for their financial benefit or decide to stay in the country and write folk songs.
