Whether or not you are enjoying Arrow, the latest CW television series based on the DC comics character Green Arrow, you can probably agree that it has been pretty cool to see certain DC comics characters a make cameo appearances on the series. So far we've seen characters like Deadshot and more recently, the Huntress and now, we can add yet another character to the list. According to Entertainment Weekly, actor Manu Bennett (Spartacus) will be portraying Slade Wilson on the series and that he has been signed on to appear in "multiple episodes of the show." Perhaps the character will have a recurring roll? We certainly hope so. Although Slade has been confirmed, according to EW, "sourced won't comment" on whether fans will see "Wilson become Deathstroke."

It would be awfully strange if the show's creators decided to make Deathstroke and Slade Wilson two different characters, wouldn't it? Which is why we think it might be likely that we'll be seeing Slade become Deathstroke, particularly since this wouldn't be Deathstroke's first appearance on the television series. If you've been keeping up with the show you might recall that a torn Deathstroke mask was first seen in the initial previews for the television show, and more recently we saw him appear on the series fully masked, beating up a captured Oliver Queen while the 'Emerald Archer' was still marooned on the island.

What do you think of the news that an actor has been cast as 'Slade Wilson'? Is this a character you want to see get a recurring roll on the current CW drama? What do you think their interaction will be like?

Manu Bennett is such an awesome actor. I really hope it will become a reoccurring role for him.

Well, considering that Oliver put, well, an arrow through the mask at some point on the island...he may think that Deathstroke is dead. Slade Wilson may have survived the encounter, gotten off the island and is in Starling City for either vengeance or his job. That way Deathstroke is "dead", but Wilson is still operating - similar to, if I recall correctly, the times when Wilson operated in the comics without the mask.

I have no issue with the casting, but for me, Deathstroke is pretty much done so long as Ron Perlman isn't voicing him. It's like a lot of people with The Joker and Mark Hamill or Heath Ledger. Deathstroke/Slade is Ron Perlman's voice for me. He's my formative memory of a comic book villain, and I adored Slade on Teen Titans. Cry foul that it's a kid's show in comparison to the comics, and I totally get that, but Slade was always good on that show, and Perlman blew me away on every episode.

I'm wondering if that means they're extending this season (IMDB only shows 10 episodes) or if this is in their plans for season 2.

Either way, I'm really enjoy this show.

The Deathstroke episode was the best so far. He looks badass. They need to make him look like this in the comic!

Maybe Deathstroke is a mantle? Cause they keep crediting Jeffery Robinson as Deathstroke and now apparently Slade Wilson will be played by Manu Bennett....

@Crash_Recovery: Arrow was picked up for a full 22-episode season back in October. While the CW haven't confirmed anything, it would be a shocker if Arrow wasn't renewed, since it's the network's second highest rated show overall (only The Vampire Diaries beats it out).

I really don't like his mask here....I think they should have gone with a mask similar to his New 52 mask and made it more like hockey goalie mask

His first appearance wasn't that impressive. I hope they make him as dominant as his comic counterpart. Or at least close.

It wouldn't bother me if they made Slade different from Deathstroke. I care more about Slade. They've made enough drastic changes with other characters that I've liked--most notably Merlin and Dinah. I think it'll be fine. The show is entertaining.

I wish it was Ron Perlman. The man did a great job of voicing him on TT and has actually resembled him to a decent degree appearance wise in the past.

I didn't like what he looked like in that episode, so for that reason alone, I would prefer to see Slade in future eps.

Still not convinced by this costume design. The way they made his mask... kinda looks like a Power Rangers' villain

I hadn't really kept up with Green Arrow in the comics but I love this show! I wish that they would speed up having some of the other characters in costume: Speedy, Black Canary, Merlyn.

I have loved Manu Bennet in that role on Spartacus and it's because of that I know he will make a great Slade. Really looking forward to this!

Anyone that has seen Spartacus knowns that Manu Bennet was awesome as Crixus. The dude is intense and can act.

I'm more curious about Merlin and his(ollie) actual villains than the transplants they keep sending in.

They also need to make him wear the beard and 'stache just once. I know it's campy, but I need it damn it!

Not a fan of Deathstroke's look on Arrow. His build was too buff-cakey muscle man.

I really hope that there's a good reason for them not picking Stephen Lang. I'm optimistic enough about this guy, but Lang would have been perfect for the role.

The only reason why I can think of is Stephan Lang is too old to be realistic.

Long as they don't make Wilson and Deathstroke different characters, I say, bring him on already. This show's awesome strength has been the appearance of wonderful DCU characters we all love thus far. Just say this week's episode tonight myself and must say that on a side note that Helena's portrayal was right on in my humble opinion!

isnt he like 50s or 60s?

If im not wrong, Slade has always been platinum blonde, just like his 20 year old daughter rose. The color of their hair seems to be genetic and not due to ageing.

It's always looked white to me. Especially Rose's hair.

Thats what I meant. The color of their hair isnt caused by ageing but genetics. So even if Slade is in his 20s he'll still have white/platinum blonde hair.
