Our latest Character of the Month, Slade Wilson, a.k.a. Deathstroke, will have an all-new ongoing series this October. The recent announcement revealed that Tony S. Daniel will write and illustrate Slade's upcoming adventures. A promotional image by Daniel (see below for greatness) more than proves he's going to make sure the book looks terrific, but many of us are left speculating about what direction the stories will take and how it'll all be handled. Only time will tell, of course, but we're curious to see which elements you think are important for a Deathstroke story to thrive.

What makes a Slade Wilson story successful? What can it bring to the table that'll keep you engaged and anxious to pick up the next issue? We've added 5 options to the poll: amazing action, a compelling plot, more involvement with other DC heroes and villains, a focus on Slade's relationship with his family, and a solid insight into Slade. There's no need to jump to a conclusion just yet. Slade's a tactical man and always give his scenarios a proper amount of thought, so we're making sure you have a good amount of time to think about this question, too. As someone with no prior knowledge of the character, I'd like for them to give me and the plethora of new fans that have come from the games a solid insight into the character so that we can get invested early.

As I call him, Defstroke the Terminator, I hope his comic is quality rather than that mess that was Deathstroke when the n52 began.

I hope it sells well too.

Well, these are all important ingredients, but a soup without liquid is still a bad soup, no matter what it's seasoned with. (I know, I know, that was a bad metaphor) So, I'd go with plot.

Glad to see compelling plot in the lead. But I agree. All options seem ingredients for a good Deathstroke book.

What I want is somebody else writing the book and not Tony Daniel.

I'd like to see in flashbacks similar to Arrow how Slade encounters a young Terra someplace on a mission in Markovia, so he takes her to train her & introduces her to Rose & they become BFFs. He starts teaching his young 14 year daughter Ravager & Terra to be villains, then at the end of an issue Ravager walks in on them getting it on. Slade is a villain & nothing of his should be ignored. Plus it would make Ravager more evil as well as she'd realize she's perfectly fine with it. Maybe even find out later that Slade&Rose worked together to subtley groom Terra.

Keep Terra evil as well, have her & Ravager form a partnership in the present day. Maybe even have them be more than just "friends" as well.

What's the New Deathstroke Ongoing Needs?

I'm still curious as to why they killed off his previous series. Heard nothing but good things about it(haven't read it yet) but I find DS to be a rather interesting character.

IT NEEDS DEATH BLOOD GORE. GRITTY NEW 52!!!!!

First post ever btw. Read almost everything in DC since the reboot.

Liefield (how is he still employed btw? Everything he touches turns to coal) tried to explore the Nth metal origins with both Deathstroke and Hawkman when N52 began. Has the Nth ever been fully explored? How'd he come across it? Then tie it in with Hawkman. They had a cool team-up and would also make an evenly matched fight.

Deathstroke is way past the point of overexposure. We all know he is awesome and kicks ass but we have absolutely no proof of this in print since he took down 5+ league members in Identity Crisis. Make him come across and whoop the ass of some people who will make us sit back and say, "Whoa...Deathstroke is still the shit!" For christ sakes, as much as I love the TV show Arrow, Slade Wilson should straight up retire losing to a B Lister like Green Arrow. Period. (Hawkman, Batman bc they are supposed to be equals, Any Lantern, Black Adam on a mission to Kahndaq!). Ninjas? Yawn. Family Ties? Yawn. I need DC to re-prove to me that Deathstroke is the Terminator first then you can evolve the rest of his family. I cannot care about his family until I am invested in him.

Slade Wilson is like pocket aces for a bad card player. You have the best hand in the game but we all know you're going to screw it up somehow.

he needs to kill unused heroes

As much as I like Slade, I hope he doesn't eventually suffer from "Batman/Wolverine Publicity". He's a cool character with awesome abilities, but I fear he is on the path to basically be DC's Wolverine. Time will tell I suppose.

Renew his rivalvry with the Teen Titans.

@drellassassin: Oh, so it was more of a personal choice of the writers rather then DC saying "this book sucks, time to kill it" ? Think I'll start reading this newer series, I haven't read the other books with him(N52) but have been reading the other books with him involved Forever Evil arch, Suicide Squad, Future's End etc

I would like his comic to mostly show he isn't a villain just someone who's part of that grey area also a lot of badassery wouldn't hurt.

He should kill all lot of the B list and C list Heroes and Villains. We should also see him have a major story line with at least 1 A lister, but from his point of view(An A lister that is not Batman).
