Getting A Bit Stale
Deathstroke faces off against a new threat known as Legacy.
My Thoughts:I really had high hopes for this series. I wanted a good Deathstroke series to read but unfortunately, this series is beginning to get a little stale. It's repetitive nature is becoming a bit rediculous.
Every issue it seems Deathstroke kills a bunch of people. I know he's known as Deathstroke the Terminator but killing people (whether good or bad) can only last so long. Eventually it will get tiresome if there isn't any story or purpose to it all. That's what's happening here. While I like what Kyle Higgins is doing on Nightwing, I'm starting to get a little frustrated with his work here. We're now three issues in and I don't feel like a lot of groundwork has been laid. The kill count is high but my interest is at a low. Higgins began to very slowly advance the story but not nearly enough. Unravel a little more mystery Higgins. Give me a reason to want to come back each month. The Blackhawks are supposed to be involved in the next issue. I'm not sure what role they'll play but that was the only thing that caught my interest.
Joe Bennett is still doing great on the art. I've always enjoyed his style, it's just a shame he's not getting a better script to work with. I'd love to see him on other titles but sadly he's limited to only this series as of now.
As much as I like Deathstroke I can't recommend this issue. I'm going to give the series two more issues to improve but if I don't seem any improvement I'll have to drop this series. I can only hope it won't come to that but this is not what I was expecting at all.
