In this issue, I find myself with changing views of all three main characters: Mr. Miracle, Orion and yes even Superman.
For Superman, my change in views over him is very minimal yet still, for some reason this comic made me lose some respect for the guy. Despite being all powerful, he was helpless to anything, so it makes me ask, what is he good for?
As for Mr. Miracle, it is simply a revelation of what could happen if Scott gave in to the Anti-Life Equation, the power he would wield, those he could destroy...all of this becomes known to us just because he's lost the one he loves.
But it is my opinion of Orion that changes the most, I usually see Orion as one of the lowest of the New Gods but when I saw his performance, that he had the heart of a true warrior I finally accepted him. Orion died the perfect death, the death every warrior craves.
Also, finding out that Himon is the God-Killer was a huge shock to me!
