It's well known that RL is accused of ripping off a lot of others work. He was accused of it at Image and he obviously was accused that he did a copy cat with Deadpool. Thing is, many of us like Wade better then his DC counterpart, but even Deadpool's name is a play on Slade Wilson. So why do we like him more? Is it his wit? Is it the 4th wall rule? (or lack of one). Personally, I read Deathstroke stuff before Deadpool, and never really cared for it. But since the very first time I saw Deadpool in his X-Force return, I've loved the character. Really in all honesty, I don't care if Rob ripped him off,  Cable and Deadpool have always entertained, and after all, isn't that why we read comics to start with?

Deathlok the demolisher /1974/ Marvel/ Futuristic gunman cyborg (Deathlok and Deadshot are original each have their diff paths)
Deathstrokethe terminator/ 1980/ DC/ mercenary (But then Slade was created as "The terminator" awfully similar to Deathlok's name and title)
Deadpool the merc with a mouth /1990/ Marvel/ Mercenary (Deadpool was created as an original idea but later was changed to be a parody of Slade)
Deathtrap/ 1993/ Wildstorm/ mercenary (Deadpool Ripoff looks just alike him even has a red costume.)

That's what I've descovered so far in the different forums and sites.

Besides Deadpool has evolve into a completly original character like he was intended to be in the first place.
He is funny, clowny and a badass at the same tiime XD

Also the suit looks awesome :D

I gotta pick up that issue.  The idea of Deathstroke fighting Deadpool just makes me laugh and laugh.  Especially causeWade has Deathstroke's sword, both of his own souds anf a freaking spatchula stuck in him.

At least Hulk, Superman and Thor have freaking back stories to support their awesomeness but all Sentry has is a hoax as a back story.

But at least they are updating him, they got rid of the stupid void, that's a start, now get rid of his cockiness and I might like him a bit more.. just a bit :P

That made me laugh.  Fair enough, I kinda understand where you're coming from. 

Still, I like the guy. I like how he was introduced, it was different. Yeah he doesn't have much of a back story, but that ties in with how he was introduced. It's like he was just put out there, fully powered to the max and he is slowly learning backwards. Most heros get their powers, go out and fight the good fight and learn more about life as hero as they go. The Sentry is a world changing hero with more power than anyone thrown right in the deep end and he simply can not cope. He's like a child with his finger over a nuke button. He is learning from other heroes.   I just think because it is so different from the norm that it's interesting to read how he is growing.  BUT, they played on the Void way too much, it did start to do my head after the 39th time of hearing him moan about it.

Well some people (myself included) actually like Slade better. Slade is more serious, and its hard to take DP seriously. Oh well, DC is a bit more mature anyway (sorry if that insults the Mrvl fan boys!)

I like Slade too. But Wade is just a much more entertaining character with a much more interesting and relatible origin and personality IMO. I mean, Deadpool is a guy who got terminal cancer, left the love of his life so she didn't have to share his pain, went to extreme measures to cure his cancer, but ended up horribly disfigured both mentally and physically. Plus he is one of a very few comic book characters that make me laugh out loud regularly. I would sum up Deadpool like this...

Laughing on the outside, crying on the inside.

Slade was just a bad ass soldier who wanted to be more bad ass.

Sure when Deadpool was first created he was a parody of Deathstroke. But he has had 20 years of development and is a completely unique character of his own. The people who are STILL all like "Oh Deadpool is just a lame rip off of Deathstroke" are just ignorant simps who obviously judge comic book characters on their powers and appearance alone. Which is pretty childish really.

Deadpool is just perfected by a man named Joe Kelly.  DC and Marvel both have their mature respects.  Marvel: Max and Icon  DC: Vertigo

Deadpool just has this amazing style and humor.  Deathstroke is just boring.

He is his own character despite their similarities and his tales are funny even though their violate.
