afetr hearing this news does any once else think a Deadpool film is getting less and less likely to happen?

The Deadpool film is already approved. They'd be throwing their money away if they didn't make it.

I don't know if the green lantern rumor is even true.

Ehh, it won't be stopped it will probably be pushed back.

This just means that the Deadpool movie might take a bit longer that's all.. Ryan is too passionate about Deadpool to just leave it.. Besides he has even done interviews about Deadpool and everything, it'll just take some time. By the time GL is done Deadpool will probably have the script and all those missing elements together :D

I don't think he'd do that. Announce a movie, then not do it. It will eventually happen.

I don't want Ryan as a GL.He should stick to Deadpool and leave it there.

Yeah i agree with Vance. Ryan should just stick with Deadpool, he is like a perfect Deadpool. I can't really see him as Hal, but hell, he might do a badass job.

I'm just psyched that they are finally making movies about someone other than superman or batman. Come on theres like 6 batman movies and about the same for superman, and no flash, GL, wonder woman, or MM?

I can see Reynolds as Kyle, but he's not who I'd pick to play Hal.

Either way, he's contractually obligated to a Deapool film, is he not? If so, then that would have to happen at some point and under the timetable set by the agreement (if said agreement does indeed exist).

How will him taking another superhero role affect the Deadpool movie?  It's just another job.  Would this even come up if it was another romantic comedy instead?  The studio will get the film sorted and it'll happen when it happens and if it doesn't happen then Ryan playing GL would've had zero impact on it.  Films get dragged into production hell all the time.

Reynolds fits the Deadpool role like a glove.  I was hoping that perhaps Bradley Cooper would get a shot at a leading role like GL, but oh well.  Maybe the Green Lantern movie will slow things down, but I doubt it.  Deadpool's very popular right now in the comics, so why wouldn't Marvel want to throw a bunch of money at it and try to make a movie?

Plus it's interesting to consider that he may or may not take the role.  James Purefoy was originally cast as V for the V for Vendetta movie, but later dropped out and was replaced by Hugo Weaving (who did a fantastic job).  So who knows if anything is set in stone.  We'll just have to wait and see.

Nothing is gonna be affected by the Green Lantern movie.  Robert Downey Jr. has managed to make two Iron Man movies despite Tropic Thunder, Sherlock Holmes, and The Soloist.  Anyway, the Deadpool film is in production--its gonna happen.
This is a good thing.  It breaks all those stupid rules people say are there preventing people from playing two different comic book characters. 

The only thing that the Green Lantern movie will do to the Deadpool movie is push it back a year. Marvel isn't going to release another superhero movie staring the same actor on the same year...it's too much competition.

The Deadpool movie isn't even remotely at risk.  Warner will get cold feet like they always do and pull the plug during pre production. 
 
Besides, there's already a movie called 'The Deadpool'.  And the quality of actors in it is rather surprising.
