I really think that when it comes to Deadpool, Ryan Reynolds seems to have a pretty good idea of how the character should be interpreted onto the big screen, which should put the nerves of Deadpool fanboys at ease, at least a little bit! According to a recent interview with MTV, Reynolds talked about what he wants to see come out of the upcoming film, even down to his vision for the movie's trailer!
"I've told Fox already that the only way there's ever gong to be a 'Deadpool' trailer is if Deadpool makes his own trailer," he laughed. "He needs to be talking to the movie audience ... with the movie trailer voice: 'In a world... gone mad... one man... must stand alone...'"
Does that mean that there is a chance that the entire film will be scripted having Wade Wilson break the fourth wall? While it worked for Ferris Bueller, it may not work for Deadpool. The interview did serve to confirm that the vision Reynolds has for the character on the big screen is as close to the comic book version as possible.
"You want to find the best version of what's in the comic books, but like a lot of [characters], Deadpool has one of the more inconsistent narratives," he told MTV News. "It's tough, because the series has been dropped and reopened so many times. You really have to pick and choose so many of the best elements and cobble those together and create the movie of your dreams...Oddly enough, I think the suit is the easiest task, " he added. "It's such a cool-looking suit, too. It's just deciding on the material and stuff, but that comes into play once you get a script."
"With the 'Deadpool' role, I've had a take on that for close to eight years now," he said. "You want to talk about gratifying? The fact that this is even being considered as a franchise right now is truly one of the highlights of my entire career." "When you've wanted something this long and this badly, to have someone say, 'Yeah, we'll make it,' is a pretty amazing moment," laughed Reynolds.
I thin that last quote just about does it for me. Eight years of loving Deadpool is a long time, and I am beginning to trust that Reynolds is most definitely the man for the job. What do you think of Reynolds' vision for the upcoming film? What do you want to see?
I hope they have a few other characters as well like they did in X-Men Origins:Wolverine. And maybe somebody who isn't X-Men related like Punisher or Moon Knight. I also hope they have a good long fight between Deadpool and the main super-villain too.
that just solidified even more for me now. The character is gonna be done right, the 4th is not hard to do on film when there is humor involved, look and Ferris, shit look at Malcom in the Middle. I think we might have the right script writers on it now, and Im so confident that Reynolds is gonna play the character to the bone. Can't wait. His deliverence on sarcasim is 2nd to none. I've kinda envisoned a Deadpool teaser trailer from before Origins even was announced.

The thing is. That not alot of people KNOW Deadpool. Hell I get PISSED off when my friends are like "Dude I liked the dude with the red shirt then at the end he was that badass mutant dude" but I have ta admit that we would get a couple of those Wolverine origins fan boys watching it cause they liked the character. But Im heading to the theatre in a Deadpool costume. I DONT want to be confused for a newby fan. So all in all the movie will be a SUCCESS but not in the box office. Cause face it, only the cool people know Deadpool.
i dont think he means the whole movie. it seems like he just wants goofy trailers and viral/extra content. becuase no, i dont think a whole movie with DP breaking the 4th wall would work.

exactly my thoughts. Stars who have a clear vision and passion for the project is a big part of making it a great film. the rest is a great script with passionate writers and a director just as passionate
I just hope they use a "good" version of Deadpool(I would prefer the original Deadpool ongoing series version), Leave the head voices out, Leave Cable out(Too early), Doesn't make him look like too much of an jerk and adds a couple of well known Deadpool characters (for instance: Blind Al & Deuce or Weasel).
Ooh, and I've been dying to see RANDOM superhero cameos. That would probably fit right into the universe they are aiming at. Deadpool can't be the only guy in a costume, so how about putting a news report showing Spider-man in the background.

That's funny you say that cuz I'm another person that is very close to owning every deadpool appearance. I have read everything this character has done since New Mutants #98 and I have full confidence Reynolds is the man to make Deadpool history. To think the movie isn't gonna have a woman for 'pool to harass is ridiculous.... I'm betting on one of the 3; Domino, Siren, or maybe even his backstory with Vanessa.

I think hes Great but... I think Dane Cook would have been better IMO... Ryan is calm cool collective in most movies... Dane Cook...IMO would be Great as Deadpool for His CRAZIE side... For me it'll be a Big difference... of Ryan actually goes Crazie.... i dunno why but i think He wont he'll jus be a funnier Hannibal King IMO...

like Dane Cook? hehehehehehe.... seriously tho... i think Dane Cook would have been a better DP since to me Ryan really isnt insane hes a cool calm collective smartass so hes kinda close to DP... hehehehehehhe... and since comics is all about interpretation... i think Ryan Views DP as a maniac thats cool calm collective smartass... imo... and i think its pretty safe to keep him as DP cuz he did come out in Origins and i think Ryan will make the MOvie Good maybe not 100% true to the character by some peoples perspective, but it will be funny and pure awesome... imo
