I love it, because I get to be involved.  And I’m such a huge fan of the character.

I get to be the authentication police, in a weird way.  To their credit — the studio’s credit — they want to make an authentic ‘Deadpool’ movie; they want to make it as close to the source material as possible. 

He’s going to be the Merc with the Mouth, [we’re going to give] all those answers that everyone wants.  He’s going to have the scarred-up face, he’s going to be in the suit — and, it’s going to be incredible.

Hey as long as they stick to the actual character, then it's all good.  I am curious as to who they will have as a villain and who the other major characters will be.  Reynolds seems to want the character to stay true to the origins so I think it's in safe hands.  As for the fourth wall thing, they have got to do that right otherwise non-comic fans will be very confused.

The Deadpool character could not be played by a better person than Ryan Reynolds he was made for the part..  If they mess this up I will never watch another Marvel movie not made by Marvel studios, Wolverine was a disgrace even the cartoon Wolverine kicks way more ass than  the film version I wouldn't even mind a Wolverine reboot with the character brought straight from the comics.

If there isn't a writer yet, then how just what is there for Reynolds to have control over?  It's just hype.  I'm sure he'll do a good job when there's something to actually work on.

While I didn't see Wolverine:Origins, I would see a Deadpool movie with Reynolds and I sincerely hope he gets his wish....and fulfills the wishes of so many fans if he is able to do a Deadpool movie that is true to the source.  Humor and super hero action together....sign me up, sparky.

I don't even need a fourth wall breaking. I would be completely fine without it, and ir might be a bit complicated and come off as cheesy. I didn't even expect the suit, because movies change the costume so often. I suppose that if they could give Spawn the same costume, they could do it for Deadpool.

Don't get me wrong, I want the comicpool in a movie, but I do have one concern. If they make his face all messed up and give him his "mouth back" and take away all that healing power, and teleportation and everything, then wouldn't that cause a huge inconsistancy in the movie world? It seams inconsistant. We can't have him being this Stryker weapon one second and then just be normal Deadpool the next. This is a little concerning. I don't want it to be inconsistant, but I do want it to be comicpool. If they do this, they'll need to find a good reason to justify all of these changes.

I like Reynolds, love Deadpool. IMO he's the best man for the job. So why doesn't marvel or non marvel producers hire marvel writers for the movies, not just Deadpool???

Without saying too much, I can't imagine that there's gonna be any tie-in to the Wolverine movie at all.

I certainly hope they just make this part of a separate universe, Which kind of sucks because it would be could to see characters like Deadpool and Wolverine interact how they are supposed to, or like maybe even Daredevil and Spiderman but unless Marvel gets the rights back I don't see that happening.

Now i am dying to see this movie...i really feel they are going to pull it off correctly on this one. ryan reynolds as wade wilson will be awesome.

Deadpool is such a hot commodity right now and I dont think Fox even knows it. So its really to their advantage to make this movie happen and happen correctly.

What you have with a Deadpool movie is a functional marriage of comedy and action. To my surprise they hit the nail on the head with Reynolds in casting, so all they need to do now is steal some memorable antics/lines from the best of the best of Wade's comics, match up a story and the trailer'll sell itself.

Following all the criticism of the "Deadpool" portrayal in the Wolverine movie they surely won't be dumb enough to do anything but follow the comics loyally.  Sounds like its moving in the right direction and Reynolds has the comic timing to make it a mainstream crowd pleaser.  I think the fourth wall thing could really work in the films favour, with so many comic book films around it could be a refreshing change for the mainstream crowd (if executed in the right way, as Stealthfart mentioned).  It all hinges on the script I guess.

Im really looking forward to a Deadpool movie myself. But I would not mind if they continud it on from his Weapon XI character. They could say he lost the ability to shoot Cyclops Optic Blasts from the head severtion, and since he is still ugly they chould give him the mask. But honestly I dont care either way, Ryan Reynolds is a damn good choice for Deadpool.

Well as far as breaking the 4th wall, there have been movies that have done that in the past. One big hit was Ferris Bueller's Day Off where Matthew Broderick broke the 4th wall throughout and even after the film. Another is Airplane, Jay & Silent Bob Strike Back, several Mel Brooks movies, and The Muppet Movie to name a few. It's common in tv land as well. Mark-Paul Gosselaar's "Zack Morris" did it nearly every episode during the earlier seasons of Saved by the Bell, Zack Braff's "J.D." narrates to the audience every episode. Hell, even Neil Patrick Harris did it at the end of every episode of Doogie Howser, M.D. So, Deadpool (Reynolds) breaking the 4th wall in his own movie would not be out of the ordinary.
