One or two characters is fine, but it looks like they have halve the MU in the movie.  They may be cameos or whatever, but it's still to much.
Don't get me wrong, I'm going to see the movie as soon as I can, I just hope I can enoy it without getting confused.

Storm was in a couple of the previews, but they have since removed her from the film.

I will probably still see this movie. The story does not look amazing. Its wolverines origin, but they seem to be trying to cram in as many X-men universe characters as possible (yea its annoying.) But on the positive side there are some good actors in this movie, so I will not go in with low expectations. Regardless I will still expect to be entertined.

That is a good point. And Fox tends to at least get that much right every time. Casting is usually pretty dead on in every movie.

Nobody cares about the other members of Weapon X outside this community.Wolverine is Weapon X as far as the non-comic readers are concerned so rightfully the movie is about Wolverine.

    I reiterate:

Most comic movies do not follow continuity and probably never will. So just try to enjoy them as their own independent things and don't get too hung up on the changes and little details. And take heart that they just might spark a moviegoers interest to pick up some comics and give them a try.

My only problem with that statement is these aren't small changes. If Deadpool is Weapon XI that makes his character almost unrecognizable. If you're going to take that many liberties why even put the character in the movie?

How do you know? Has someone actually made a statement about the hasbro label. Has someone at fox retracted it? If he's not Weapon XI I'll removed my boycott stance right now.

Follow the link. You'll see that Deadpool and Weapon XI are two different roles. The thing about the Deadpool toy is a production error.

Yea I've seen the IMDB list. But I've also seen the toy.

They released the toy twice and neither time did anyone think to fix it. Is there a public statement about the toy being incorrect? That's what I was askign about.

In general I agree with this statement, and I do plan on seeing the movie as soon as I can.
The problem I have with it is there seems to be way to many characters that don't relate to the subject as I understand it.
Admitidly (spelled right?) I understand they have added a lot to Logans history since I last read it, that being the origins mini, but I don't rememberthe likes of Gambit, Deadpool and such in his back story.
As for sparking movie goers intrest, Don't you think they will be confused when the comics don't line up with the movie?

About this movie debate with Weapon XI and Deadpool... there are rumors that Weapon XI is Deadpool used as a medium for all of these powers, like an Apocalypse the Twelve-type scenario. I wonder if they're trying to give a new meaning to "Deadpool"? In the comics, Wade got his moniker from a betting game (the dead pool) where other test subjects bet on whom would die next from the horrendous experimentations. If the rumors are accurate, then "Deadpool" is a collective power "pool" of sorts. I wonder how the "dead" part fits in? The killing factor, possibly? Who knows. And Deadpool was a test subject used to try to re-create Wolverine... but why stop there? If you're trying to create the ultimate soldier, why not try to make an amalgamation? A little corny though, yes.

I just hope he loses all of the powers except the healing, then has his own movie.

I think Hollywood has just gotten to this point where they're like "and and and let's give him like, LAZERS coming out his eyes! PEW PEW! *zooms around the room like a 5 year old pretending to be an airplane*"
