Teaser posters for the DEADPOOL movie have been popping up in NYC, advertising a 2011 release? Wow… due respect must be given to Ryan Reynolds for not only being able to squeeze this flick’s production schedule in with his other big superhero movie, but also keeping it quiet enough that this is the first we’ve heard that the movie’s actually happening. Hard to believe, huh? In this day of electronic press releases, Twitter teases and spy photos of the set… somehow DEADPOOL was able to be kept wraps until its teaser posters starting showing up, in all places, on plywood walls in a construction site.

Ah ah ah… hold on a second. This smells FISHY.

Fake, fan-made movie posters for comic-based movies are about as common on the internet as pop ups, but this is the first I’ve heard of such things making their way into real life. I suppose if everything else advances, there’s no reason that a niche hobby within a niche hobby could advance as well? This reminds me of that one CHAPELLE SHOW skit about reality becoming like the internet - - remember that one? == TEASER ==

CHUD’s the one that found these bogus promos and broke down the obvious clues pertaining to their fakery rather quickly. The funny thing is that these posters are actually advertising something - - just not an actual DEADPOOL movie. They were produced by an advertising firm called Fine Line Kreative that specializes in producing bar ads and has actually made a lot of other fake Marvel posters, actually.

You know, I unfortunately never took any classes in the advertising department when I was going to a communication school, so I don’t know a whole lot of about targeting ads to audiences, but I can’t help but snort about this one. I get it that these are supposed to spread awareness about FLK, but I think that’s an awfully specific demographic to target. Deadpool fans… who just happen to own a bar as well.

Then again, it is New York, and that’s big city filled with all kinds of people…

Nice posters.  They do actually look real.
But it isn't the first we've heard about the movie happening... the guys who wrote Zombieland turned in their script about a month ago. Fox have approached Robert Rodriguez to direct, awaiting an answer. And Lauren Shuler Donner gave an interview a couple weeks back saying they are gonna start shooting next year.

I'm pretty sure that EW said that Deadpool was put on hold because Green Lantern was starring the same dude.

They are very good even though they are fake.

what's that Homer Simpson line about NY city.  "We gotta get inside before it gets dark, cuz that's when the moon comes up and all the weeeeirdos come out."

Even if these were real, it's not necessarily an indication that the movie is in the works. Just looks at the Red Sonja posters from a couple SDCC's ago.

Deadpool being translated into the movie universe is exciting and all, but I just don't know if it can be done right... nevertheless the posters look cool!

I was about to say, this looks quite good. How foolish of me.

God loves me, Ryan Reynolds is playing every character I find kind of hot.

How can this movie come out in 2011 if they haven't even begun working on it yet? 

Maybe the producers of the posters are using this as a spec to get the actual gig?

Whether they're real or not, Marvel should totally use these posters anyways xD I mean it does have their characters name on it :P But it would be cool if they were actually making the movie in secret, like how they did with Cloverfield and faked the name so people wouldn't know what they were shooting, that wold be epic!!! :D

They most have been keeping this top secret.

These are awesome. Especially the first. I love the tag line on the second one too. If FOX takes an approach to marketing and producing this movie in a way similar to these posters, it could be freakin awesome!

And if they make a deadpool movie how do the fix the mess they have left behind (why don't they give the rights to marvel they have respect for there characters. It's not their are no good movies but sometimes they just change the characters to much

I think that first poster looks kind of rad. The second one, not so much. Either way, i had kind of completely forgotten a Deadpool movie was even a thing.

ryan rendolds is a crappy actor (sorry to all you fans of his) yet, he somehow gets to play hal jordon I really hope he doesn't screw that role up like he has every other role he's ever had in a movie
