no...Spider-man has 47 years worth of fans and Wolverine has 4 movies, is featured in 3 animated series, has lord knows how many comic book appearances per month and tons of merchandising....Deadpool will never be more popular then Spider-man or Wolverine

No. He's very popular right now but I can't see him getting Spider-Man or Wolverine popular. But who knows? Perhaps with time?

I think Deadpool is just a fad. I mean I like the character but don't think he needs to have as many books as he does or as many guest appearances. They're kinda overdoing him right now and the public might soon get sick of him.

The reason why it may not happen is because Deadpool is too deadly.. That's why he wont have his own tv series (Unless is on a adult channel)

What do they do to Wolverine in the kids channels? All he does is cut guns and sometimes pulls his blades for nothing just to pose and then kick the guy... They hold them back because they can't do half the things they are suppose to do.. And that's Wolvy who is a hero.. Imagine Deasdpool who is a bloody merc... They can't do it! They would take everything from the character away if they make him like Wolvy in Wolvy and the x-men!

I mean, really dude, Deadpool writes greetings with people's intestines!!

Not bigger than Wolverine or Spidey, or probly even the X-Men. He's funny and a great character to read, but I don't think any "new" characters will every get bigger than the classics.

Big as Wolverine and Spider-man....maybe at some point...

I have to agree that Deadpool is just a fad, eventually people will get sick of him being everywhere and he'll drop like a ton of bricks

Maybe in a few years he might become as known as them. Like, getting films and a couple of more cartoon appearences and alot more comic appearences, but to go as far as to say be more popular than them... it all depends on the fans.

No, he rules but bottom line is Spidey and Wolverine have much more older and younger fans then Deadpool, and I doubt that will ever change, more of a DP fan myself, but I also read Spidey and Wolvie's comics, mainly because I grew up on them, that's kinda the reason why a character who has comics geared for mature readers will not become more popular, parents wont go to a comic shop and buy his book for their kids like they would a character they read as a kid

Wolverine isn't really kid friendly, and obviously Deadpool has the marketability since he's in every comic, Suicide Kings is in the new york times best sellers list, and the comic book style action figures and t-shirts from the Wolverine movie sold like hotcakes.

Staring Daruma and Blind Al that takes care of him.

Bt I agree this over exposure its too much.
We all should send emails to marvel about this, if they recive enough they will get the message.

Beside's they already got infinite money supplies by disney, why would they want to cash something out now?

I'm kinda think its inevitable for Deadpool becoming one of the BIG NAME Marvel heroes like Hulk, the X-Men and Spider-Man, but more so on an adult/mature teen audience then with the younger audience. They may know the character but not really "KNOW" him.

I figure deadpool will get famous in the same way Fight Club, Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, and other cult flicks in that he will allways be debated over and he have the cult classic status.

LOL. My older sister drinks half a gallon of Hatorade a day so I have to recomend these entree's to her.

My answers is simply no... Wolverine and Spiderman can be discribed as icons. Like great achievers in the real world, you can't replace them but there's always room for more.

nope. Spider-Man and Wolverine already had ginormous fan bases as it was, and Wolverine had
three movies for the audience that didnt know who he was to get to know him. ill say he'll get about the
same reception as Blade did when the first film came out, which was still very good.

they wouldn't waste money.....that would be a top selling issue that would just fly off the shelves and would give rise to alot of the heroes and villains.  It would bring in allot of money for marvel. Much like after they killed Bruce Wayne. All of the issues doing with the stories of trying to find out what happend and who would be the next batman have had great writing and prompted the Red Robin series. With all the Wolvie clones they could work that angle for years. By killing off wolvie they could start the next great marvel arc. It's a smart move to kill a character everyone cares about at the hight of his popularity.

Wolverines comics ain't exactly mega sellers any more anyway. Deadpools over taken him. I mean, his main series sells on average 50 k a month. MWAM sells on average 35 k a month. and so far Team Up has been selling around 30-35 k a month.

That's like 120 k Deadpool comics sold each month.

I don't think Deadpool will be more popular than spider man and wolverine, because -just like everyone has said- he's not kid friendly, so you can't grow up with him.   However, I think Deadpool will have more loyal cult following.  Kind of like the Rocky Horror Picture Show, it's not the most famous or popular movie but it has a really loyal fan base.
