Ladies and gentlemen, it looks like Fox is finally moving forward with a Deadpool movie! The status of Wade Wilson's solo movie has been up in the air for several years now, but today, Twentieth Century Fox announced that the Merc with a Mouth's movie (say that 10 times fast) is scheduled to open February 12, 2016.

As previously announced, Tim Miller will direct and there's no official word yet on whether Ryan Reynolds will reprise the role. But it seems pretty reasonable to assume he will given the fact he's been passionate about this project for quite some time now. In other Fox/Marvel news, the Fantastic Four reboot has been pushed from June 19, 2015, to August 7.

This will be a movie I can't wait to see. Going to keep my fingers crossed and hope it's good and they do the character justice. Having said that, I have no reason not to be skeptical until it releases.

Please, just don't screw it up. FOX, please let it be an R-rated film, because I think it'll take out a lot of the fun out of the film if you censor or hide too much of the blood and whatnot. Though, well, for the blood, I suppose it wouldn't ruin it that much to lessen it and whatnot...

Either ways, I just hope they stick to the script that was mentioned some time ago. It's supposedly really good and does the character justice, right? And I do hope Reynolds will be playing Wade; he did a great job as the character before they butchered him and turned him into "Weapon XI" and he did an amazing job voicing the character in the test footage.

People need to stop blaming actors for the writers, directors and producers mistakes. I'm sorry but the Wade from the beginning of the Origins is Deadpool. If they'd just stuck with that [maybe minus the bullet thing] it would've been cool beans. Reynolds will rock it like he always does.

@dagmar_merrill: Bit too overpowered for me, it was cool, but Deadpool shouldn't be that fast, he was effortlessly deflecting dozens of bullets simultaneously.

It's not like I'm gonna toss any tables over it, lol, just seemed a bit weird, not to mention inconsistent since he was later having a tough time with Wolverine who can't even time one bullet.

Not really a big Deadpool fan, but Febuary sounds like the perfect time for a film. Also really hoping that Fantastic Four movie fails, and they go back to Marvel.

I hope it's ryan Reynolds. he did a perfect deadpool. I just hope that he is deadpool from the comics and not the movie.

@wolverine08: Totally unrelated to the article but has something to do with James: Like last week I had finally gotten around to reading Logan. That was actually a really good story, Risso's art does leave a lot to be desired though..

That seems like an awful short time to pump out a movie.

Logan is one of my favorite Wolverine stories to be honest. Really nice portrayal of Wolverine before he became "The best there is". I can see where you are coming from with the art, but I think it worked for the old school war feel the story was going for.

The scene near the end about tranquility could possibly be my favorite Wolverine moment, ever.

Probably will be mediocre at best. 20th century fox has butchered marvels movies. As for the Fantastic Four movie who cares, it's gonna be just as bad or worse than the previous ones. Marvel needs to get these characters back.
