At least this is still better than what he does on Prelude to DP Corps #5, with all that weird 3D modelling thing and about the series, i hope it's as violent as Punisher MAX stuff
@123422: Agreed, but I still can't stand it. I'd rather have had that they chose an other artist for this. There are so many great artists out there that rarely get any work. On the violent part; I read that it will indeed be pretty violent.

You're talking about Baker? I think he's a good artist. He's a better writer, though.

The art is a huge improvement over the last issue with that crappy CGI Photoshop stuff.
However this new art doesn't bother me as much, I think it need a better colorist that's all. For instance take this piece of artwork he did for Deadpool Merc With A Mouth #13....
I mean look at that and tell me that's not perfect for a MAX title? It was the artwork from this series that convinced me that Kyle Baker could do a MAX series justice in the artwork department. I actually....like this.....whoa can't believe I just said that! That's right, Kyle Baker's art with this style of colors, is actually really nice to look at and perfect for a MAX title.

Deadpool Max Not bad, but the coloring isn't as good as the image above. At least it's better then the crap from before and thus makes the series just a little more readable in my mind.
This series is probably going to kick a lot of ass, We have David Lapham who has written two good Deadpool stories. He did the issue of Deadpool Team-Up with Satana which was actually pretty good. He didn't use voices which makes me want to give him the biggest cookie I can buy, and congratulate him on a job well done. He also did my 2nd favorite Deadpool story in Deadpool #1000, the one where all his friends are in a parody of old detective films, which actually made me LOL twice.
So we have a writer who can write a pretty good Deadpool, an artist who has improved and actually is drawing stuff that looks better, and FINALLY a mature rating meaning Deadpool can kill people in the most gruesome ways possible and the writer can basically cut all cords and do whatever the heck he wants without any censors holding him back.
I was discussing Baker's art with someone, and I think people have the wrong impression of him. If he's doing hand-drawn art, he's fantastic. Here's some panels from "I Die At Midnight," which he wrote and illustrated:

I originally thought that Kyle Baker sucked as an artist and that he couldn't draw a picture to save his life. Well then I did a little google search on him....and.....well I was wrong. The CGI crap he did must have been a phase or something because all of his other artwork is actually really really good. All of his previous artwork has this Norman Rockwell feel to it which I really dig.

Outlaw had sex with him(Suicide Kings), Typhoid Mary had sex with him(Deadpool Classic), Siryn had sex with him (X-factor#200). Deadpool gets his fair share of sex. "

We could really use a grittier, somber Deadpool. More like Joe Kelly's. Hopefully that's what Deadpool MAX would offer. "
For all means, this look like Deadpool goes R Rated, and Ra rated thing are violence in msot of cases. I dont have a problem with a serious Deadpool, i just think, this is to much.

You know what I just noticed, The Issue 3 cover has Deadpool fighting over top members of the KKK.....
Something about the thought of reading a comic book of Deadpool blowing away members of the KKK makes me smile and wanna rush out and grab this issue the minute it comes out.
It will probably have deadpool on a more realistic light. In my opinion and it's just an opinion, characters like wolverine and deadpool, Daken, Dare Devil, Punisher though are cool to me they just aren't so amazing on a cosmic or planetary level. Put them on a street or military level with espianoge and human mechanisms something more realistic and normal by comic book standards and they would be more enjoyable. Just saying they don't look so super next to another person ten times more powerful all the time or having these martial arts skills for Close Quarter Combat against somebody shooting lightening blasts from their hands from a distance.

I did the same thing. I was reading EVERYTHING for a while. But when it came to six or eight DP books in a month, it was time to stop. I kept up with "Merc with a Mouth" because I really like the humor, story, and art. Too bad it's all over now. The regular "Deadpool" title lost me because of it's seeming aimlessness. "Deadpool Corps" just seemed like a ploy to separate me from my money.
I just read Deadpool MAX #1. I came on here to find out if it's 616 (it's not) because they seemed to imply in the issue that DP is more a US black ops agent, which didn't seem right.
Bob is his handler and the issue is told from his perspective. You don't see much of DP in this one. He seems to have very few lines on none of them made me lol. Don't get me wrong; it was humorous at times. Lots of action, harsh language and a little nudity. No voices, but since it was not told from DP's perspective, we may just not have seen them yet. The artwork was different from what I am accustomed to, but not bad.
I will pick up ish 2, but only to see if we get to see more Wade. I won't continue to read it if we don't see some DP humor here (Voices or not, I don't care) The whole reason I began to like Deadpool is because he would actually make me laugh out loud while reading. If this series is just to try out a more violent, profane, nude DP *shudders* then they'll lose me.
Honestly .. I didn't think it was any good. Part of my turn-down is Baker's art, which has improved, but still not my thing. Other part of it is the story itself .. I don't like the fact that we see yet another version of Deadpool here. This makes for the Daniel Way version, the Uncanny X-Force version ( based of the classic Deadpool version ), the Deadpool Pulp version and this one. ( Not even including Deadpool Corps versions etc. ) I get the whole idea to tell the story via Bob, Deadpool's handler. But this still is supposed to be about Deadpool, which frankly doesn't appear that often in this comic and isn't mouthy at all. It would seem that Deadpool MAX is more an excuse to show extreme violence, bad language and lots of nudity.
