Origin
Wade Wilson is the son of a military man and was forced to move all over the world. As a young boy, his mother died of cancer, leaving him in the care of his strict militaristic father. Wade would continually become more rebellious growing up, being a bully and a punk... until his father was killed by one of his drunk friends on a bar fight when Deadpool was a teenagerWade would then go on to be in the military himself, eventually becoming a black ops agent. Deadpool was kicked out of the army, "for being too good" he says. It was then that he found his calling as a mercenary. At first he would only take assassination jobs if he felt that the target(s) deserved to die. If he failed to complete a job, he underwent plastic surgery to change his appearance. One of his mercenary jobs brought him to Japan where he was hired to kill the Oyakata. Wade however made the mistake of becoming friends with his target and joining the Oyakata's heya. The Oyakata was the greatest sumo, at least of his time, and was considered unbeatable. Wade tried to knock the Oyakata down everyday until he became strong enough and wise enough to do so. He quickly became a star sumo attraction calling himself "Chiyonosake," a name that the Oyakata's daughter, Sazae, gave him. Wade would also become very close to Sazae, and the two were engaged. Wade would have inherited the Oyakata's heya and wealth, but fled once his employer found out that Wade refused to complete his assignment and came after him.
He spent the next several years taking different mercenary jobs and frequently hooking up with a prostitute named Vanessa who would later known as Copycat, whom he had deep feelings for. When he discovered he had cancer, he chose to break up with Vanessa, wanting her to hate him rather than watch him die. It was during this time that the inter-dimensional law firm called "Landau, Luckman & Lake" started watching Wade and believed that he would help usher in a golden age on Earth. Some members of the firm believed that he was a lost soul and a lost cause, but others believed he was worth fighting for. He would eventually accept an offer to be a test subject for a branch of the Canadian government known as Department K. Department K, working in conjunction with the Weapon X Program, performed various tests on Wade where they intended to give him a healing factor derived from the mutant Wolverine. The operation was an apparent failure but they could still use him and put him in a field team with other Weapon X members: Garrison Kane, Sluggo, and Slayback. Wade realized that Slayback was a murderous psychopath and killed him. This act washed him out of the Weapon X program and he was sent to a government hospice where failed superhuman experiments were sent to live out the rest of their days. But unknown to the Canadian government, the patients were cruelly experimented on by Dr. Killbrew and his assistant, Ajax. The residents of the hospice had a wagering game called the "Dead Pool," where they'd bet on who would be the next to die due to the horrid experiments. The one who kept track of the game was Worm, a man with a computer for a head. He and Wade quickly became friends.
It was here that Deadpool would be visited by Death, who believed she was coming to claim a deceased soul but was surprised that Wade was very much alive, and that his desperate yearning for death had summoned her prematurely. She was instantly attracted to Wade, and was delighted at the idea of a romance with a living being. They spent a lot of time together during Dr. Killbrew's torturous experimentations on Wade, where she'd ease his suffering by separating his soul from his body and bringing him to physical fantasies of her design until the experimentations were over. Due to his desire for Death, Wade started mocking the sadistic Ajax, which the other inmates saw as bravery, following his rebellious example. Despite Ajax's wishes, he was not allowed to kill Wade because Dr. Killbrew believed that Wade, though a failed experiment, could hold the information necessary to make any future attempts successful. There was a rule in the hospice that an inmate would be sentenced to immediate termination if he/she killed another inmate, which Ajax used this to his advantage. He lobotomized Wade's friend, Worm, right in front of Wade. Death, whom was ever present at Wade's side, appalled torture and asked Wade to release Worm of his pain... which he did. Since he killed another inmate, Dr. Killbrew reluctantly allowed Wade's death and his heart was torn out. However, Wade's intense anger and thirst for vengeance kick-started his healing factor, instantly healing his shattered chest and regrowing his heart before he took his final breath. Death begged and pleaded with Wade to resist his feelings so that he would die, and they could be together... but it was too late. Wade took this opportunity to kill Ajax and several guards, allowing himself and all the other inmates to break out of the hospice. Wade took the moniker "Deadpool," after the betting game, and continued his mercenary activities.
Life As Deadpool
After leaving the hospice, Deadpool met Weasel, who became Deadpool's go-to-guy and drinking buddy. Deadpool also became employed by Mr. Tolliver who hired Deadpool to kill Cable, which brought Deadpool into direct conflict with X-Force. He was almost successful in his first encounter with them. He defeated the team, but Copycat, masquerading as Domino, unloaded an assault rifle into Deadpool's back. After Mr. Tolliver's apparent death, Deadpool and Weasel, amongst others, went on an Easter Egg hunt to find the goodies in Mr. Tolliver's will. Deadpool boarded a plane which Black Tom Cassidy and Juggernaut were flying on and held Black Tom out of the plane, threatening to drop him if Juggernaut didn't give him the information disc in their possession. After Juggernaut did so, Deadpool dropped Black Tom and let Juggernaut jump out of the plane after him. Deadpool then hijacked the plane. This brought Deadpool back into the life of Copycat, who was also pursuing the contents of Mr. Tolliver's will with Garrison Kane. Near the prize everyone sought, Slayback, thought dead, came into the scene and attacked the group while Weasel tried to open the prize, which was supposed to be the most powerful weapon in history. Slayback injured Copycat, but Weasel managed to open the box, revealing a droid made to destroy weapons. After Slayback was defeated, Deadpool saved Copycat's life by making her absorb his healing factor... but was distraught to find that she no longer loved him, and was dating Garrison Kane.Deadpool later snapped and sought out Wolverine for information leading to the whereabouts of Garrison Kane and Copycat. Wolverine instead fought him, and Deadpool proceeded to beat the information out of him. Deadpool found Garrison Kane and Copycat, and tried to force Copycat to be with him again, but Wolverine showed up to help. Deadpool did well, but with the odds stacked against him and the building burning down around them, Deadpool decided to flee.
When a dying Black Tom sent his men to hunt down Deadpool for his regenerative abilities, Banshee and Siryn tried to use Deadpool to hunt down Black Tom. It would be at this time when Deadpool became infatuated with Siryn. And while Siryn despised Deadpool at first, she started taking a sincere liking to him as she started to see past Deadpool's false demeanor and started to see him for who he really is. Deadpool was careless in a fight with Black Tom's men, trying to showboat in front of Siryn. This error on his part caused him to lose a hand, but Deadpool's healing factor failed to initially regrow his hand and he blacked out from the blood loss. After Deadpool woke up he found that Siryn had been nursing him, and he surprised her when his hand regrew in mere seconds, but it was apparent that something was wrong. Juggernaut caught up with them, trying to forcefully take Deadpool and they ran. Deadpool tried a few times to get the Juggernaut out of their hair, such as dumping a vat of molten metal on him, but nothing worked. As Deadpool started getting hammered by Juggernaut in a stand-off, Siryn found herself indecisive... help Deadpool, or save Black Tom... her uncle, who raised her. She made her choice and rescued Deadpool, but Deadpool was all too aware of her reluctance and tried to blow her off. She insisted on talking with him and she asked for his name and tried to remove his mask, he became angry at the attempt but the mood was crashed by Juggernaut and they continued to flee. Afterwards Deadpool was given the option to stay behind while Siryn and Banshee went to apprehend Black Tom, however he decided to go... and told Siryn his name. Deadpool ended up getting into another brawl with Juggernaut and his mask was ripped off, making him scream and chase after it, ignoring Juggernaut. Siryn was some distance away and thought Deadpool was in trouble so she came to help. Deadpool however didn't want her near him without his mask, but she wouldn't leave which caused Deadpool to reveal his face in a fit of hysteria, but Siryn didn't care what he looked like and commended him. Deadpool and Juggernaut would continue their battle, but Deadpool threatened Dr. Killbrew's life in return for his own safety. The two parties negotiated and Black Tom was saved.
Siryn later went undercover in a mental asylum, but was discovered and locked away with a power inhibitor collar. She managed to build a small phone and tried to contact Cable, but when she was unable to contact him she phoned Deadpool. Deadpool easily snuck in later that night and attempted to free Siryn, however his ruse even deceived her and his psychotic behavior caused her to panic and attack him, only for him to reveal himself and take off her inhibitor collar. Instead of sneaking out, Siryn wanted to complete her mission and went after the headmistress... only to be ambushed. Deadpool was apparently knocked unconscious by a devilish-looking boy and Siryn went home with no memories of what happened. A few weeks passed when Siryn's memory started to slowly come back to her. She and Shatterstar rushed back to the mental asylum to save Deadpool, but they were split up. As she went through the asylum, her sense of reality was warped and suffered mass delirium as she ventured through the building, being guided by visions of Deadpool which either confused her or attacked her. She finally found Deadpool curled into a ball, asking if she was real or another hallucination and begged for her to kill him. She was confronted by the headmistress and the devilish-looking boy who egged her into doing it. She realized that it was all the Gamesmaster's doing and managed to free herself and Deadpool from his clutches. Deadpool thanked her, but she said he should take the credit because she knew exactly what was going on when he asked her to kill him, saying that Deadpool sacrificed everything to live. Deadpool then kissed her.
Deadpool was hired by L, L & L to blow up a building in Canada. While there he is spotted by Sasquatch whom tries to stop Deadpool but fails. Deadpool's about to leave until Sasquatch reveals that it's a gamma reactor core, and if it goes boom then countless people will die. Deadpool then dives into the boiling reactor to stop it and later confronts L, L & L whom tell him that it was a test, and he passed. They then tell him that they want him to help create a new era in the galaxy.
Deadpool receives a package from Black Tom containing his glove and goes to find Black Tom. He talks to Siryn about it and she goes with him, but it turns out to be a trick by Dr. Killbrew. Dr. Killbrew says that he wants to try to make up for his past misdeads against Deadpool and informs him that not only his his healing factor failing, but he's dying. He however knows how to help Deadpool and the three go to find the Hulk. Deadpool begins the attack, but once Hulk tries to attack Siryn Deadpool goes berserk. He successfully tricks the Hulk into using his own strength to impale himself on a warped street sign and takes some of the Hulk's blood. Deadpool notices that something's wrong with the Hulk and shows some concern before leaving.
Dr. Killbrew was successfully able to cure Deadpool of his cellular degeneration, Deadpool then tried to get Siryn to leave and locked the door... planning to kill Dr. Killbrew for everything he did to him in the hospice. Sirynrealized what was going on and managed to convince Deadpool not to kill him, she even revealed that she knew Deadpool watched her sleep. She promises that she'd always be there for him. Later, sitting ontop of the Xavier institutes's roof, Deadpool asks just how "not alone" he is when she's around, but she says she has alot on her plate, but says that if he stays on a good path after she straightens her head out she'll consider being with him.
Deadpool's Destiny and team-up with Cable
Deadpool was hired by a cult known as the "One World Church" that wanted Deadpool to steal the Facade virus from a pharmaceutical company in Europe, but Cable caught wind and was trying to stop the One World Church. The One World Church wanted to use the appearance-altering Facade virus to turn everyone on Earth blue so that there would be no more racism, however the virus wasn't finished and it had the side-effect of causing cellular breakdown... literally causing people to turn into goop. Deadpool makes it to the facility, but is greeted by Cable who telekinetically blows Deadpool's head up and leaves with the virus. However, Cable has to track down three punks who stole the virus and are posing as celebrities. He is unable to save two of them, but he is able to save the third by extracting the virus from her cells, which leaves Cable exhausted; Deadpool shows up and shoots Cable. Deadpool returns to the One World Church with the virus. Deadpool also joins the One World Church to restore his appearance and is the first test subject for the process. Cable shows up and talks with the Prime Minister, who injects Cable with the virus which cancels Cable's powers, causing his techno-organic virus to go out of control... but worst still, the Prime Minister has Deadpool attack Cable. The two fight, but it becomes apparent that Deadpool's healing factor is having a hard time fighting off the Facade virus which is trying to cancel out his powers as well. After a rough fight, Cable is at Deadpool's mercy and tries to convince Deadpool that what the Church is doing is wrong, but Deadpool doesn't have time to make up his mind before his body starts slowly turning to goop. Cable's answer to their problem is exchanging bodily fluids. Deadpool uncomfortably agrees, and Cable strains to use his telekinesis to swallow Deadpool whole and then puke him out. Free of the Facade virus, Deadpool's healing factor kicks into highgear as he's almost instantaneously returned to normal. And as a bonus, Cable gained some of Deadpool's healing abilities which suppresses the techno-organic virus for him and allows him to use his telekinesis at whole new levels. During the battle, the Prime Minister fled to Germany to find the perfected form of the virus and Cable follows, leaving Deadpool to find his own way to follow them. At the pharmaceutical company, Cable is forced to fight their new guard, Lightmaster. During the fight Cable manages to telekinetically change the virus so that it turns everyone pink instead of blue and uses Lightmaster to spread the virus all over the world. Believing Cable to have gone mad, Irene and Hammer trick Cable into teleporting to them. But when Cable bodyslides, Deadpool forcefully goes as well since the two are genetically linked now, separating after the teleport. Irene points a gun at Cable but Deadpool attacks Cable. Cable finds a way around the problem and empties a gun clip into Deadpool while disoriented from a teleport. Cable then uses his power to cure everyone in the world of the virus and his plan is finally evident, Cable wanted to be the savior. However, Deadpool threatens that Cable isn't Jesus and he'll be watching.
Deadpool is hired by an unknown to steal an item, but is beaten to it by the Cat. Deadpool then hunts down the Cat and negotiates for the item with the life of a bystander, the Cat gives in and Deadpool body-slides away, but brings Cable with him, but Cable leaves. Deadpool is hired again to steal another device, but is knocked out by the Cat, who is stopped by the X-Men whom bring Deadpool back with them. The X-Men reveal that they are the ones that hired Deadpool to steal those devices and that they're able to stop Cable. When Deadpool wakes up, he finds himself in his own X-uniform, which startled Deadpool. It was revealed that Wolverine and Beast had a bet, Beast wagering that Deadpool would assume that he's an X-Man. Since Deadpool can teleport into Cable's island whenever he wants Wolverine wants to use him, but the others don't trust Deadpool. Emma Frost uses Cerebro to block Cable from eavesdropping on them telepathically, but Deadpool says that he's immune to telepathy and they can talk in his head... confusing some of them at first but proves effective. During this time, Nick Fury was having a discussion with several world leaders and they were discussing the threat that Cable poses. Cable then body-slides in along with Deadpool surprised, threatens that he's going to destroy their nuclear weapons and leaves, prompting the X-Men into action. But before the mission, Deadpool demands a different X-uniform... Marvel Girl's, but he decides half-way to Cable's island that he'll just wear the one they gave him.
The X-Men go in, but Deadpool betrays them by shooting his teammates, Bishop and Wolverine, in the back and tells Cable the X-Men's plans. Cable sends the Six Pack to fight the X-Men and asks if Deadpool believes in him, Deadpool tries to deny it but it's obvious that he does and Cable is very happy, but said that he wanted the X-Men to succeed because his real goal was to bring the world together against a common enemy. Silver Surfer shows up and starts fighting with Cable, meanwhile Cable's floating island starts to fall towards the ocean. Cable tries to hold it up with his telekinesis, but Silver Surfer is pushing Cable to his limit. Deadpool decides to use the device the X-Men were having him steal to help Cable after Silver Surfer defeated him, it allowed Cable to use the last of his mind powers to safely lower the island into the ocean and momentarily link everyone's minds in the world together to feel what everyone else felt. This device however left Cable comatose. Deadpool was left being blamed for Cable's "death," making Deadpool try to find a way to snap Cable out of it. He find MODOK and gets a Phalanx embryo, he then finds the Fixer for his technical know-how. But things wouldn't be too easy, Agent-X was hired to stop Deadpool from saving Cable. Agent-X and Deadpool fight for a while, but Deadpool defeats him and spells "Hi Weasel" with Agent-X's intestines, since he knew Weasel would look. Fixer merges the alien embryo with Cable and Cable tries to gain control over it after some words from Domino, but Agent-X showed back up to go at it with Deadpool again... but later decides to give up his mission if Deadpool gives him his pancreas back, which Deadpool previously took for a souvenir. Deadpool insisted that Agent-X grew a new one, but Agent-X wanted it back because it belongs to him. Cable then thanks Deadpool and asks if Deadpool used his own money to save him, but Deadpool said that he was thinking about robbing a bank or something.
Deadpool finds a second home on Cable's floating island, but a murder of a known terrorist on the island promps an immediate investigation which Deadpool tries to solve, but is kinda sent on a goosehunt by Irene Merryweather. Deadpool gets bored and holds people on the island at gun point to try and get answers, but is escorted back to Irene by Prestor John. At the crime scene it's revealed that Deadpool is the one that killed him, but has no memory of it. Deadpool begins to run from the islands authorities and is pursued by Prestor John. Irene asks Cable for help, but he says he wants to give Deadpool the chance to do the right thing. A big fight breaks out between Deadpool and Prestor John, but Cable stops it. Cable and Deadpool go for a walk and Cable asks why Deadpool killed the former terrorist, but Deadpool doesn't know why. It's noted that Moira McTaggert said that Deadpool will always be insane as long as he has his healing factor, but if he loses his healing factor he'll die. Cable offers to find a way to help Deadpool, but Deadpool has to leave the island.
Deadpool is brainwashed by Black Box and Deadpool goes to kill Cable and has a brief fight with Prestor John that's stopped by Cannonball and Siryn. It turns out that Cable was transported to another dimesnion in a fight with Skornn and they need Deadpool's help to retrieve him. The three first arrive on in a world where Apocalypse wasn't stopped and they fight and defeat 3 of Apocalypse's Horsemen, but are encountered by the 4th... that dimension's Cable. Knowing that isn't their Cable, they teleport away. They find themselves in a world that Cable turned into a paradise, knowing no war or pain and Deadpool's weapon is destroyed, Deadpoo
