    Not Bad, But Not Great

So I picked this and the last issue up because someone apparently told me that they mention that Daniel Way might be getting rid of the voices in this issue. I needed to know if that was true or not and figure, what the hell I'll pick it up and if I don't like it I'll rant about the thing and if I do like it then I guess I can finally say that Daniel Way is taking a step in the right direction.

So I didn't like it, but I didn't hate it either. I liked the artwork and I still think Carlo Barberi is one of my favorite Deadpool artist out there right now. Also that cover by Dave Johnson is simply and purely awesome, can you believe that Dave Johnson didn't even know that Deadpool kicked Captain America in the nuts when he drew this? It's true, check out his deviantART page

Also I liked the wordplay that Daniel Way used in the first four pages. The little debate between Deadpool blowing up the terrorist was actually kind of funny and made me wonder why Daniel Way hasn't used such snappy wordplay like that before in previous issues. I mean Deadpool after all is supposed to annoy you with his logic.

Also surprise, surprise, Daniel Way finally mentions that Deadpool isn't actually a psychopath. About time Daniel.

I liked the introduction of Dr. Bong, but something seemed off. There was no introduction, no "Hey kids it's Dr. Bong" intro, he just appeared like he was already introduced in the last issue. I kind of look forward to seeing what happens in the next issue between Wade and Dr. Bong.

The voices really got in the way in this issue, I mean more so then usual. They weren't in it very much, but the few pages they were they just seemed to shoat out random stuff that only confused me because nobody talks like that. In a conversation, someone says something, then the other person says something that is a response or relates to what the first person said...that wasn't the case in this point. Here is an actual conversation from the book, this takes place after Steve Rodgers kicks Deadpool off the team at the beginning of the book (I'm not spoiling anything it was in the preview) tell me if this is doesn't confuse you.....

Steve Rodgers - You're Off the Team
    Box 1 - Stop. Don't.
    Deadpool- What, the volleyball team?
    Box 2 - Why?

.....Okay......I can understand if it was "You're off the team", "What, the volleyball team?" that's supposed to be a joke, or even "You're off the team", "Why?" that's a response....but where does "Stop, Don't" fit into this conversation? It's not a response, to him being kicked off the team, it's not a joke about him being kicked off the team...so where does it fit in?  Also I mistook a character talking off page for one of the boxes and it annoyed me.

Overall it wasn't a bad issue, it's a step in the right direction, but I'll withhold my judgment of wither Daniel Way is getting better or not till he finishes this arc because every single time I say "Yeah it's a step in the right direction for Way" he always seems to piss me off in the last issue of the arc.

    3.5 out of 5.

      Review: Deadpool #28 0

Deadpool continues his team-up with the Secret Avengers, but decides to do things "his way" which Steve Rogers doesn't agree with. Also, Doctor Bong is hilarious.  The Good I laughed, I laughed some more, and I felt fulfilled. It's no secret that I find Deadpool annoying. He's Wolverine for this decade, but don't let that get you down: This book is the most entertaining read Marvel has to offer. I almost took pictures of frames I laughed out loud at to show you how funny this book is, but t...

I'm still trying to get a feel for Deadpool.  I certainly do like the humor that this title supplies.  It is definitely a different read than most of the titles out there.   This story had a bit more to it than the last issue.  There is actually a story developing here.  I liked that.  We find out that the Secret Avengers that Deadpool thinks he has hooked up with is not actually the Secret Avengers.  They are clones being lead by Doctor Bong.  Who is this guy?  He's about a "serious" of a villa...
