An Olympic Sized 'Pool of Death: A Dead Pool; Deadpool #25

Brian Posehn is a rare talent in stand-up comedy, and is also a very rare talent for comedy writing in comic books. His run on Deadpool is one of the best, and this issue rounding out the Deadpool Vs. S.H.I.E.L.D. arc was fantastic. The fight sequence that ran through the book was choreographed flawlessly, with tons of humor and puns woven throughout. The sequence I had heard most negative information from was the brief cameo of Sabretooth, which I laughed at audibly. The fight with Crossbones is the final piece in the story with Deadpool and S.H.I.E.L.D. and is stated as being, from the last page, the jumping-on point for Deadpool: The Gauntlet #1 (one of the great comics in Marvel’s digital-first Infinite series) which will lead up to the wedding in Deadpool #27. After seeing how excited Deadpool creator Rob Liefeld was at the prospect of a Deadpool-centered wedding, I am interested to see how that story will end; will it be a bloodbath, a shootout, or some inter-dimensional travel? Only time will tell.

And up next for the Merc With A Mouth: Time-travel and a fight with Hitler. This book just keeps getting better. Go buy it. Read the Infinite comic, and get ready for what’s next.

The book’s opens with a surprise, especially considering how it ended last issue. Even if it does very quickly take the turn that we were all no doubt expecting, I like it when books throw you off right at the beginning, especially for a book with a tone like this.Since “The Good the Bad and the Ugly”, Deadpool’s taken an even more violent turn both...
