    Undead Presidents! 2

After a long waiting period (for some people), the first issue of Deadpool finally comes out! However, I can't deny I was scared of the results of this first number. I might be wrong, but I think one of the writers for this title is a comedian, so I thought this series would concentrate in the humour and not the plot. Thankfully, I was wrong as it actually has a very interesting and extremely fun story and multiple funny moments and dialogues, which will make you laugh out loud. The art is simply...

    Deadpool NOW! #1 2

The Good:Deadpool is an awesome character. The Merc with a Mouth is funny, he kicks butt, and he's totally regenerative and undefeatable while doing it. The fans of the Marvel Universe tend to fall madly in love with him. No one can quite cut their way out of a giant green monster's stomach in just the same way as he can. It's good to see him with his regen. back. And, I'm glad he's retained his own series (instead of being only in the new BA T-Bolts title). The first page of the book really pull...

    Decent enough 2

Overall it was allright. As usual, Tony Moore's art was very good, and the gore that he drew had a very cartoony feeling to it, which works well with the book. The absence of yellow and white boxes was also a definite plus, in my opinion. As for jokes, there were a few in there that I thought were genuinely funny. My main problem with it, though, is that Brian Posehn seems to have gone out of his way to try and make every panel have a joke in it. And while a few were funny, it came across as just...

    Marvel Now-ish... 0

As a massive fan of Deadpool and in paticular, Daniel Way's writing of him, this is the one Marvel book ive been dreading the most. Its not that i doubt the ability of the writers but, Wade is a very specific kind of character who if not written can fall flat on his face. I had to give the issue a chance if for no other reason than to say that i tried and i am kind of glad i did.So its not a reboot, its not an origin story but it also dosent follow on from the end of the previous story so dont e...

    Presidents Rise! 2

I have been a Deadpool fan for a number of years now and when I heard about it getting a new series I had mixed feelings. This is because overall I actually liked Daniel Way's series and although it ended a bit poorly it was a very good series. Also I didn't know anything about Brian Posehn or Gerry Duggan prior to this series. The addition to this new series that I was excited to see was Tony Moore as I have loved his art over the years whether it be the early issues of The Walking Dead or his ...

    Deadpool #1 Review 0

I admit, when I first purchased Deadpool #1, I wasn't sure what to expect. The fact that this book was going to be written by comedians Brian Posehn and Gerry Duggan sounds good on paper, but it would be difficult to state whether this work actually work. Thankfully, it largely does. Deadpool having to fight off undead presidents is the type of wackiness we can expect from Deadpool. The plot is pretty solid. S.H.I.E.L.D. needs someone to clean up this dead president mess, but putting out a notabl...

In Brian Posehn and Gerry Dugan we trust! 2

Spoilers!!!I picked up this issue because of the review. I've never been the biggest Deadpool fan but after reading the reviews for this I decided to pick it up. I probably won't have enough money for the whole series but I may stay around for the first story arc. Note: I will style this review differently to most of my reviews.PlotDead Presidents are being brought back to life by a Necromancer who believes that America needs them again. Captain America tries to stop this, but Harry S Truman is ...

    Empty Headed Merc 0

This first cover is absolutely glorious. There are also a lot of excellent variant covers, but by itself the main cover is just so damn perfect Deadpool. A great balance of weirdness and over-the-top attempted badassery. Plus I love all the extra little details in the dinosaur's skin that make it more cartoonishly grotesque.Tony Moore's interior art takes that cartoonishly grimly look a step further, and makes this book look AMAZING. The colors are extraordinarily vibrant in a way the perfectly ...

THE COMICCreative Team:Writer - Gerry Duggan & Brian Posehn.Artist - Tony Moore.Colourist - Val Staples.THE STORY"In Wade We Trust"THE VERDICTA perfect example when not taking risks, Deadpool suffers mercilessly. The story struggles when it shouldn't. The artwork feels thrown together. Unfortunately Deadpool's healing factor is bought back into play. If you want to read real Deadpool check out Daniel Way's latest incarnation.THE RATING1/5 Stan Lee's...

Deadpool #1“In Wade We Trust”Marvel NOW! introduces Deadpool #1, and they assure you it’s not a reboot or an origin story! This debut issue was definitely a fun and entertaining read. I mean, if you don't agree that Deadpool gutting open a Godzilla-like creature is awesome or pumping Franklin D. Roosevelt with tons of bullets, I don't know what is. I'm sure, the overall premise is silly and a bit bizarre, but that's what we want in a Deadpool book: insanity. Oh, and blood. And gore which there is...

Deadpool #1: "In Wade We Trust" 4

The GoodI can honestly say, that I rated this first issue of Deadpool "5 stars" with great satisfaction and amenity, as I think Wade Wilson is in fact the next superstar of the Marvel Universe. At first, I was unpredictable going into the title of this new Marvel NOW! relaunch, especially when there's a whole new crew behind Deadpool, although having seen the works of Brain Posehn I took the chance of catching up with the character. I think Posehn and Gerry Duggan did an exceptional job emphasiz...

Somebody put there hand up and say "Do Over"This is a classic example of a Major Studio putting out trash because it can.I've heard so many great things about Deadpool and even read up on the backstory of Wade and his powers and abilities and quirky personality and what I found in this reboot was nothing but trash. I literally want to throw these #1 and #2 issues away and here is why? You'd think that a first issues would be a great place to attract new readers or to enhance the experience of the...

    Deadpool for President 0

I've never read Deadpool before outside of cameo appearances in other books, but I gather that his books are supposed to make me laugh and be gross and action packed at the same time. This book more than delivers on that premise by including zombie presidents risen from their graves! This book get's five stars for the Tony Moore art alone. Check out my video review above for a more in depth review of the book....

Guess who's joining the Marvel Now revolution? DEADPOOL! The Merc with a Mouth is back in his new ongoing series written by Brian Posehn and Gerry Duggan with artwork by Tony Moore and colors by Val Staples. The GoodSeeing DEADPOOL's title with two new writers neither of them being Dan Way seemed strange. Way did an outstanding job with Deadpool before Marvel Now and he really pushed the character's stories to the best of their abilities. However, now [I guess] Way saw it fit to step down as Dead...

    Dead in General 0

Deadpool has become a pretty heavy main-stay of the Marvel universe in recent years, attracting a lot of people to the medium through his outrageous attitude and absurd antics. Because of this, audiences have been regaled with various works featuring him, ranging from the grand to the mundane. And, while this isn't the worst, it stands out in my mind as a disappointing addition, at least this first issue.Readers are pretty much thrown into the plot with little to no background beyond a brief ex...
