Well here we have the first issue of the first Deadpool series. All these issues seem to be good and hard to find these days which is a damn shame considering how good they get. We start off with Wade getting back from a job on the liberation front only to be screwed over monetarily. We get a nice, if not short banter back and froth with Blind Al as well as a nice look at two mysterious individuals who are sizing Wade up for a future job and eventually arranging things so he gets the assignment to go to Antarctica and possibly destroy half of the world in the process. Deadpool isn't really a "good guy" right now and is more interested in how much money he gets for a job but we still see his human side before the issue is through.

If you are a Deadheadpoolboy like myself then this is definitely something to own. While it doesn't have all the laughs that the later issues would it is great to see Deadpool at his beginnings. That's not to say that this issue is devoid of that classic Deadpool bander. One of the biggest highlights has to be Deadpool threatening to lick Sasquatch's hand if he doesn't let go of his face. Another point of interest is the artwork which is really top notch. Yeah sure Deadpool is bigger now but that's the flare of the 90's for you. All in all this is a great issue if you can afford it now, and if you can't then at least this one got printed in trade paper back unlike the later issues of the series. Now go forth and enjoy.

It's starts with him in the jungle fighting a bunch of revolutionaries that are all speaking in spanish which yes the dialogue bubbles are in spanish and Deadpool being him yells things and that them and stops them. Then right before he's about to get into the deep doodoo he teleports out. This opening scene is one of the many reasons why I started reading Deadpool all killer no filler. Which with an opening...
