    Showing profits

I am not really sure what to say about this issue.  Messner-Loebs is one of my favourite writers of Wonder Woman but he is one that took some time to get used to as his stories were not big in-your-face spectacles, rather more character and plot driven, which at times seemed like nothing was going on, until all of a sudden something was.  This issue is nothing like what I remember of his writing though, instead he focuses on a group of girls that Diana takes on as Amazons in training despite their idle lifestyle.  They are slow to get interested in the training but soon it begins to show profits.  Meanwhile Etta is unsure that Diana should be doing this, thus she suggests that Diana tone back the training.  The interplay between Diana and the girls was fun, but the issue also suffered from basically foreshadowing the end of the issue from the very first panel (not that it was very climactic.)  Still the story was sweet and harmless and while it might not be the best representation of this era, it was still worthy.  The backup story is one where Diana was lost in space.
