    Publisher »

Originally known as "National Publications", DC is a publisher of comic books featuring iconic characters and teams such as Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Green Lantern, the Justice League of America, and the Teen Titans, and is considered the originator of the American superhero genre. DC, along with rival Marvel Comics, is one of the "big two" American comic book publishers. DC Entertainment is a subsidiary of Warner Brothers and its parent company Warner Media.

My attempt to create and understand DC's new timeline.

I think that Batman has been in operation for roughly 10-12 years now. That, to me, is the only way to explain all 4 Robins. and Hal Jordan must have been in operation before Superman as well. thats the only way to account for Kyle Rayner.

10 Years Ago: Batman begins operation in Gotham.

9 Years Ago: Hal Jordan becomes Green Lantern (???).

8 Years Ago: Dick Grayson becomes Robin.

7 Years Ago: Barbara Gordon becomes Batgirl (maybe?) Emerald Twilight/Kyle Rayner becomes Green Lantern (???)

6 Years Ago: Jason Todd becomes Robin. Dick Grayson becomes Nightwing. (Possibly some of the old adventures of Swamp Thing and John Constantine)

5 Years Ago: Debut of Superman, Hal Jordan returns to life (???). Formation of the Justice League. Jason Todd is Killed by the Joker. Tim Drake becomes Robin.

    4 Years Ago:

3 Years Ago: Joker cripples Barbara Gordon. Sinestro Corps. War. Justice League fights Martian Manhunter (???) Jason Todd comes back to life (???)

2 Years Ago: Blackest Night. Dick Grayson takes over as Batman while Bruce is gone. Damian becomes Robin. Tim becomes Red Robin. Batwoman debuts.

1 Year Ago: Bruce returns and founds Batman Inc. Dick goes back to being Nightwing.

    What do you guys think?

@InnerVenom123: Didn't DC say that Batman had been active slightly before Superman as an urban legend and stuff? I don't mean 5 years earlier but maybe half a year or a year earlier.

I think that you should forget everything you knew about continuity. Enjoy the stories (if you can - some of them are interesting). Everything else? It makes no sense. To be honest, I strongly believe DC has no clue. All these events that we know don't really fit in the time schedule...

P.S. Didn't they say that Tim Drake went straight to Red Robin? That's what a viner said in a thread.

I second this. I'm enjoying a lot of the stories and try not to get caught up in what I know.

That's how I feel about the New 52. I enjoy the books I do read and try not to get caught up in the glaring continuity issues of cramming countless pre New 52 stories into 5 years. Oh and Lobdell was the one who said that Tim Drake became Red Robin straight away despite the fact there's a photo of him and Bruce as Batman and Robin in Teen Titans 1.

And Bette mention in Batwoman she was a Teen Titan & Tim mentioned Teen Titans that his version will be the shortest ever even though now it has been stated that Tim's Teen Titans are the first group to use that name.

The way I see the DCnU is kinda like the DC Universe right before Zero Hour. There were lots of continuity errors floating around that the writers got away with because it was all about to be re-booted! I think the DCnU has a few wrinkles that are still being ironed out.
