Will You Buy One of DC's New 52 Titles With A Black Lead Hero? I'm not talking about team books, so only Static, Mr. Terrific, and Batwing count. Why or why not?
DC Comics
Originally known as "National Publications", DC is a publisher of comic books featuring iconic characters and teams such as Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Green Lantern, the Justice League of America, and the Teen Titans, and is considered the originator of the American superhero genre. DC, along with rival Marvel Comics, is one of the "big two" American comic book publishers. DC Entertainment is a subsidiary of Warner Brothers and its parent company Warner Media.

i MIGHT flip through Mister Terrific at the store while i'm there...if i like what i see, i'll buy it...but thats the only one
probably, but not because of race but good stories that are interesting to me. if they are good stories with interesting characters i'll buy them in trade paper back as i buy all my comics . its quality over quanity or race my friend. why the lead have to be a black in order for me to buy it? just curious.
Mmmm this thread seems to have a hidden face. The emphasis on "black" suggests that these characters mean somewhat less than others who are not black. o.O
Seems like a "lets see who doesn't want to buy the black people comics" thread.
I believe these characters will be judged based upon their stories..not their race.
Static: Yes, becuase I like the character. McDaniel's art doesn't do anything for me.
Batwing: Maybe, because I Like Judd Winnick.
Mr. Terrific-While i don't like Eric Wallace, I'm intrigued by the concept, and liked the character back in JSA
I'm down for Batwing. Including him, there are several members of Batman, Inc. I would be interested in seeing fleshed out. Judd Winick writing it really cements it on my reading list, though.
As for Static Shock, I might check it out. It depends how I'm feeling the week it comes out. I'll be turned off if the series is bogged down by his old continuity. If he's going to be a DC character now, make him a DC character. I'm not interested in a bunch of Milestone baggage.
I think I'm passing on Mr. Terrific. I like the character. I think maybe he works better in a team setting than a solo one, but I can still see him working solo. But you launch a solo series with the current writer of Titans? Really, DC? Do you even want this book to survive?

Haven't read Static comics... Are they anything close to as good as the Animated Series?
Also, I will buy the Mr. Terrific title if it can work itself into my budget.
No, not at all. Not because they're black, but because as characters they interest me not.

i'm down for Terrific and maybe Static.Batwing i could'nt care less about.
I'll be checking them all out. I'm curious to see how they'll handle them period, but also in the scope of the reboot.
I won't be grabbing any of those 3. I marginally enjoyed the Static X cartoon as a kid but not enough to look back into it. I'm just not interested in the other characters compared to the others that are relaunching. I'm not getting all 52 so I have to weed so many out...
Batwing's the only one I care about because I'm mostly only going with the Batman "universe". I'm worried I may not relate to the fact that it takes place in Africa - one continent I don't care about in any way. So I plan to give it a shot and it's up to DC to make it relevant to people unfamiliar with the countries and their politics, etc
All 3
@dementedtheclown
:I had that idea once i started picking charecters and everything i had like nubia from wonder women and this one guy who only appeard once in a superman comic and called superman racist, seriously he was interesting i want him to be fleshed out more, the fire dude from teen titans cartoon I had static and icon and i forgot everyone else
No, I won't pick up any, but that's because I'm not picking up any DC Title ever again.liar
