I am for the first option.
I am for the first option.
They've strongly foreshadowed—via the "countermeasure" speech Batman gave—that WW will do something bad and Superman will have to angstily but heartily beat her down in response. It's a tired arc, and I'm sick of the Kingdom Come style Wonder Woman showing up in the ensemble books. It's an oversimplification of the character, it never reflects the more nuanced takes on the character in her various solo titles, it's problematic thematically (I wonder, will WW eventually reflect on how really it was for the best that her man had to beat her up?), and it would be lovely if they deviated from it or somehow flipped it on its head. I'm prepared to be underwhelmed, however.
It'll most likely come down to their differing methods or if Wonder Woman tries to have Superman take a greater role in his place in the world.
wonder woman is not that interested in playing a role in the world. she's not even interest in playing a role in her own god world. she refuses to be the god of war and just wants to save her little brother zeke the baby.
on the other hand superman was more interested in playing a role in his early issue.

True and that's how Azzarello depicts her which is what I vastly prefer. However, we then have this scene courtesy of Johns in his Justice League series which screws over Diana big time IMO. See how she is this scan in contrast to how she acts in Azzarello's series. And people complain about that depiction of her...
@lvenger: talking about disconnection and inconsistency. One time superman summoned the whole league to urge them to take 'actions', I can't remember the exact issue but perhaps you have read it before?
I really hate what they have done to Diana in JL. They are ruining her. But it doesn't proof Azz is great, he is just not as bad. Because, well, the old wonder woman is much more... wonderful and special.
Because this guy.
BAHAHAHAHA
@toplel: If Azz's is more connected with the rest of world, it would have been harder for johns to twist her because her image in the outside world could have been established, opinions announced, action patterns settled.

yep, sounds like something Johns would do to Wonder Woman.
@hastalavista: You mean this scene from Action Comics 10 I presume? I liked that issue and that scene. It wasn't as if Superman was asking the League to change the world, just those suffering from poverty and injustices. That contrasts with Diana's hands on approach in that scene I just posted
Because this guy.
Awesome pic
@lvenger: Yes. But I don't see how they are different. Superman just had the oppornity to fully state his points. He wants to save the Somalia people, and he wants justice. WW addressed the whole country because the whole country itself was in deep crisis, all the people suffered. How are they different? So it's ok to play gods to a big part of a country, but not the whole of it? How can superman ends poverty? By giving them money or force other people to give them money? How can wonder wonder end the wars? By taking away all their guns or giving everyone money so that they don't need to fight for it? The intention of intervention are equal. Both their proposal are not applicable regardless of the subject is poverty or war.
@hastalavista: I agree that they aren't really practical solutions but Superman's concern is strictly out of the sense of helping others and prevent needless suffering. Diana's (poorly written) approach dealt with Diana stating that humanity needs to be guided or forced to work better.
@lvenger: She said the us intervented, the people rebelled, then the civil war never stopped. Then she said they could save them. She didn't say how. She could been she wanted to take away all their weapons, or to be their new leaders. Superman said he wants to end poverty, but nor did he said how. He could mean that he wanted to do charity, or other means. It is not neccessary that Diana was questioning humanity while Kal not necessarily not questioning. They just addressed different matter, violence, war vs poverty. Maybe the topic of stopping wars implies more intervention to you? Or violence relates more to humanity? Any way she didn't say anything about humanty. She proposed to supply water and food, to be exact... Superman on the other hand was upset by his rough day and especially a guy in the previous page.
@hastalavista: True, they were different topics but Diana wanted to be more involved whereas Superman just wanted to prevent suffering and poverty.
@lvenger: well then we will just keep our own opinions then.
@hastalavista: Indeed, to each their own and all that.
@supegirl: It is not excluded.
I am for the first option.
I'm gonna vote for the Superman/Lois scenario.
I'm liking the SM/WW comic so far. I prefer them to stay together for a while. BUT... if they do end it, I want it to be because of Maxima. Seriously, she needs to be in the new 52.
Well................ Batman told Superman that he doesn't like them being together. The reason for this being that Batman has contingency plans against all the other Justice Leaguers based on there various weaknesses. How this relates to Wonder Woman is that Batman has no contingency plan for her because she has no real weaknesses and thus Superman in his opinion is the only person capable of stopping her (because despite knowing him on a first name basis apparently Batman hasn't heard of Martian Manhunter) because of this them being in a relationship would make it harder for Superman if he ever has to take down Wonder Woman.
Because Batman digs WW
it'll turn into a Twilight Movie
Supes will be Edward
Batman will be Jake
and
WW will be Bella

I'm gonna vote for the Superman/Lois scenario.

I think their "romance" end badly , because Superman realizes who he became when he with Wonder Woman.
Superman falls for someone else, like Lois. The guy has a lot of options and, honestly, Wonder Woman isn't exactly the best fit for him in terms of personality. Unless opposites attract but I think her Amazonian Warrior qualities would grate on Kal eventually.
Superman will get tired of filet mignon, and decide he needs more hot dogs in his life, leaving WW for Lois Lane.
Before I get blasted: I was just joking to lighten my bad mood about the whole thing.
@deaditegonzo: I think you're mistaking new 52 WW for pre new 52 WW. New 52 WW is more like week old escamol wrapped in a gold foil.
@lyrafay: And Superman wanted to kill Batman for the same reason.
I know you were also letting of steam, but in some ways I agree and in some ways I even prefer NEW-52 Wonder Woman. Both have aspects I like/prefer/dislike.
I'm gonna vote for the Superman/Lois scenario.
I went with the first one, as long as it doesn't involve a love triangle between them and Batman, I'm fine.

I was gonna say that Batman was more like a vampire but then I thought Eddy isn't really a vampire.
I'm gonna vote for the Superman/Lois scenario.
