Yesterday, IGN.com posted its list of top 25 DC villains.

Four days ago, the website posted its list of top 25 DC heroes.

What are you thoughts?

@maccyd: No they never made a list of best dc heroes or villains.

They've done Top 100 Heroes awhile back and Top 100 Villains but this is solely DC heroes and villains, and is more up-to-date

Heroes - Catwoman in the top ten is a joke.

The top two villains will always be Lex and Joker, no surprises there. But I am shocked that they would put Penguin above Ra's and Darkseid...DARKSEID.

The Heroes list though, is actually pretty impressive, and quite diverse actually.

Cool lists.

Ra's and Darkseid should be higher, I agree.

Yeah, the heroes list is not bad. There are a lot of unique choices.

I just don't see Swamp Thing or Catwoman that high. Surprised to see Kyle Rayner in here but not John Stewart. I personally like Barry more than Wally and think that Aquaman should be higher, but it's understandable.

@batmannflash: Actually remembered myself as I remember Galactus being on that list.

Their not bad, but not great either.

I found it odd that Superman was number one and not Batman. I mean Batman has had a bigger impact for the decade and half not Superman. And get that every comic book character owes some sort of debt to Superman but Batman in this day and age is bigger!

Meh. The lists aren't that great imo....especially who was depicted for number one on the villain list....ugh

@lyrafay: Maybe that's because Supes has had a bigger impact on the comic book industry as a whole throughout history and not just a decade.

Huh, what do ya know, they placed Wally above Barry, (yessss).

The Heroes list is actually really good and I agree with like 98% percent of it, I wouldn't place Damien in the top 25 to be honest.

The Villains list though....that's just a cluster mess of all sorts.

Top 10 hero should be something around this:

1. Batman 2. Superman 3. Wonder Woman 4. Hal Jordan 5. Wally West 6.Dick Grayson 6. Barry Allen. 7 Aquaman 8 Green Arrow (Oliver Queen) 9. John Stewart. 10. Kyle Rayner

You can always discus if Superman should be one or Batman should and so on. Catwoman and Shazam in top ten is ridiculous. Catwoman is better know for being an antihero - a half good/ half bad character rather than a hero. Shazam is more known for his legal battles about whatever his book can be call Captain Marvel or not. Not for any story arch nor attributes. He doesn't even have his own book.

Some I agree with and some I don't, Batman will always be number 1 for me.

The shouldn't have put all of flashes rouges in one spot and also Crime Syndicate is a away of cheating. Justice League didn't have a spot on the heroes list.

Agreed but alone they wouldn't be too high.

I think they got the right villains, but in the wrong order, also lex is a much better villain then the joker.

And the heroes, cyborg does totally not belong there, i am happy jonah hex has some love, why is Damian there? Starfire in the top 20, really? Where the heck is hawkman?

And catwoman and nightwing ( well i guess some of you might argue with me about these 2 )

And Amanda Waller is not a villain, well at least not anymore i guess.

But then again, this is IGN, and by their standards this is a great list...

Superman was the first and he gets credits for that. However Batman and his family has been more popular and been bigger in comics for decades.

It's not about popularity.

Why is Damien on the list.?

starfire gets a spot but zatanna doesn't?

I didn't look at the villain list. But no surprise that Batman's rogues are on there!! But god, I'm more distracted by that troll and his immature arguments.

I couldn't tell if they were strictly going by this year or not. If they were I'm ok with number one and could see H'el in the top spot as well. Darkseid hasn't done much this year. Overall than yeah he needs to be top 3 at least.

Darkseid should have been number one, and Ra's, Black Adam and Doomsday should have either been higher - or just on the list period.

They were okay lists. I'm still a bit annoyed every time they put Superman ahead of Batman, but it's all good either way.

Terrible lists and opinions from the IGN team.

Bane was in the top 25 therefor so should Doomsday. I agree with Joker at number one. I'm having problems following some of the above arguments against Mr. J being at the top. As far as the Hero's why in the world is Damien on this list? He is a fun kid but not top 25 worthy. Superman should be number one and Batman two. Wonder Woman and Green Lantern could go either way. I would think Flash is higher ranked then night wing.......

@pokeysteve: See, I actually think Darkseid has had one of his best years in awhile. His one-shot that shows he killed his gods, and has been invading/destroying Earths across the multiverse. His brainwashing of Earth-2 Superman into his perfect servant. His appearances in Batman/Superman. He is being written as the biggest threat in DC, and I love it.

Id really like to see Helspont get used more as well, in core characters' books like Superman. Shoot, a three way showdown between Earth, the Daemonites, and Apokolips could be the coolest cosmic arc in DC since Final Crisis.

Ooo I haven't read his other appearances. Where else has he been? Earth 2? He's been mentioned in Worlds Finest. I don't remember him in Superman/Batman.

why is constantine sooo low? and why is catwoman so high? and why is damien on the list but not tim drake? i am glad kyle and wally are on the list and the top 2 are no surprise. idk why penguin is soo high and i kinda get two face but i just really dont agree

Aquaman over Green Arrow? Wow, people are really buying into that hype.

I think the list is generally ok, but I think Flash should higher than nightwing, seeing as he dates back to 1940 and has been one of the main JLA members..Flash never seems to get the respect he is due..

This list is pretty strange....Catwoman #7? WTF? I don't get that at all. Glad to see I'm not the only one.

@pokeysteve: He was mentioned in Superman/Batman, that is it was mentioned that he was going to attack bought of those worlds, but the demon hiding thought the new 52 world is more aggressive so it stands a better chance at surviving.

@pokeysteve: In Earth-2, he has really done a number with that universes Supes. Check it out. Its a little "done before" because Supes has gone rogue and needed to be stopped by Batman before, but it is admittedly pretty cool. "Hail Darkseid" Supes shouts as a quarter of the Earth is destroyed by the passing of a god.

His villains month comic shows his backstory, and his reason for attacking Earth. I predict big things for him.

My list would be a lot different with batman being my number 1 but seriously some of the heroes and villains they put/placed on their list seem so wrong to me.
