Today DC Comics has confirmed SINESTRO is getting his own on-going!

    Source here

DC has confirmed that Sinestro, by the creative team of writer Cullen Bunn (The Sixth Gun, Marvel’s Magneto - yup, another villain book!) and artist Dale Eaglesham (Green Lantern #23.4: Sinestro) will debut on April 16.

Thoughts on this, Viners? I think this is awesome!

I know right, just like Magneto; Sinestro is an arch nemesis; a villain heroes must overcome. How can an ongoing enable this? GL just lost his best villain.

Sinestro hasn't been a villain since the start of the New52. New 52 has reestablished him an Anti-Hero - at least for now. He very well can handle an on going in this current situation.

Interesting news. Sinestro is a complex and compelling villain/anti hero and at the end of the day, he's working towards a just goal in the most evil way possible. I enjoyed Johns' focus on Sinestro and hopefully Bunn will also be up to the task. Hope Dale Eaglesham delivers the kind of art he did in JSA.

@arturocalakayvee: Really now, cause I read that as hims just being a hero for that situation, like Lex Luthor in FE. Hence the whole it is a tragedy that we were always friends, because we will always be enemies line. That type of thing I was be ok with because it was temporary but making him a straight up anti-hero with his own book instead of GL's arch-nemesis is not an idea that I like.

I don't agree nor disagree with you because I understand where you're coming from. I think them developing him into an anti-hero is much needed character evolution because now you understand why Sinestro is the way he is. He was never meant to be truly evil, he just had different view points on how to defend the universe than the guardians did which essentially made him a villain. Of course, he's done very villainy things, that can't be denied, but I've always liked him so it doesn't bother me that they've "humanized" him a bit. The GLC has tons of enemies to keep them occupied, like Venditti's writing, until Sinestro goes full blown evil again, we all know its bound to happen.

Not interested in this further than a miniseries. Also he should be a villain.

How can Bunn be writing for DC and Marvel at the same time?

A lot of writers do that. Take Charles Soule for example.

I don't remember ever seeing someone work for both at once.

But now I can name at least two.

Really? It's pretty common. There was a time Geoff Johns was working on The Flash at DC while writing Avengers for Marvel.

I think Johns once said that the thing with Sinestro is that his goals are good, he just goes about them in the worst way possible, pretty much. I think if the series goes along those lines, it could be pretty good. and now that I think about it, with what happened in the newest Green Lantern, with the universe pretty much rebelling against the GLC, this could be the perfect time for Sinestro. He could probably just fly up to any planet and say he's the one who killed the Guardians and be treated like a hero for that.
