Should DC publish more villain-centric minis?/Which villain(s)?

So, I was thinking about this today. How many Marvel villains have gotten mini-series in recent years? I can think of three right off the bat: Dr. Doom (Books of Doom), Thanos, and Magneto (Not a Hero). I'm sure there are plenty of others. Now, true there are some DC villains who have been spotlighted in minis in recent years, but I have a hard time thinking of more than maybe 2-3: Penguin (in Pain and Prejudice) and Lex Luthor (in that mini by Azzarello from like a few years back. Man of Steel, I think?). So, the question is: should DC come out with more villain-centric mini-series? And, I'm not talking about ongoings like Deathstroke or Suicide Squad, I strictly mean mini-series.

If so, then what villains would you want to see spotlighted? But, please try to stay away from villains that are either already starring somewhere or have the spotlight on them now.

Me? I wouldn't mind seeing Ares get a mini series. It seems that Wonder Woman's rogues need more development and, of all of them, I think Ares has the most potential, especially in the context of the New 52, since he's actually trained Wonder Woman. I think the character is rife for development. However, a mini series could be moot because Azzarello looks to have plans for him soon. Other villains I'd choose? Mongul would be a fun choice and it'd be cool to see where he is. I assume he was still a member of the Sinestro Corps given that Arkillo mentioned that his tongue was ripped out by Mongul. After that, the list goes on and on....Brainiac, Queen Bee, R'as al Ghul, Parasite, Zod, etc...

I've said it once and I'll say it again: The Rogues by Geoff Johns and Scott Kolins.

There are a lot that I would love to see handled like Deadshot's mini-series where we get a good glimpse into the history and motivations of a character. Alternatively, with the new 52 in play, I'd love to see some mini-series depicting where some characters have been in this universe. Some that I'd like to see get a mini-series in some capacity include:

  • Bane (obviously not background, but current exploits, really needed to revamp the character)
  • Hush (I think he is an interesting character to put in the new 52, especially if they play his identity as unknown)
  • Catman
  • Larfleeze
  • Black Manta (I honestly have no idea if he's ever had one before)

I'd love to see some more villain-centric miniseries, specifically:

  • Vandal Savage (Having a book detailing his origin, and then chronicling his life up to the present)
  • Merlyn (Again, detailing his early days, the cause of his hate towards Green Arrow, and the training that he took with the League of Assassins)
  • Catman (A book about his humiliation, training, and then time in Africa)

@Zeeguy91:

Krona. He could fight against Metron (who has pretty much the same agenda as Krona).

@SmashBrawler:

Rogues would be awesome.

@serpent222:

There hasn`t been a mini for Black Manta.

I really enjoyed reading the Books of Doom and Red Skull's book. I think they were both excellent in depicting their characters motivation. I was worried that they would try to humanize the Skull and justify his actions but they show him as a supreme bastard. I think that is a potential problem with villain books. They need to be engaging enough for people to want to read more about the character but not make you view them as a hero or you could lose a fantastic villain.

@kfhrfdu_89_76k: Afraid that's impossible. Given that pretty much all of the Green Lantern continuity is intact, Krona's still dead. They actually showed his body in Red Lanterns #1. They could set it in the past though, like say one billion or a couple million years ago. That'd be cool.

@Zeeguy91:

So, I`m not the only one, who thinks that there should be more untold stories of characters, whose pasts are clouded in mystery. Cool.
