@ltbrd: I'm not saying that there isn't a place for it, and I'm not singling out spidey I just used him as an example. What I am saying is that the writers overuse this plot device, and they don't just reserve scenarios where characters are faced with "impossible odds", writers shoehorn in guest appearances wherever they can.

I think Clark's attitude shift that occurs in the gap between Action Comics and Superman has to do with dying at the hands of Doomsday. I mean Matt Edelson did confirm that the death has occurred in the new 52.

but as for the topic yaa there should be some cohesion but at the moment NO because this is the moment for new readers to get used to the characters they decidedd to pick up. and then once things start taking off after an arc or two there can be some cross-over events. i believe batman has a cool looking event comming up. hopefully itll some up how the timeline works for the bat titles since theyre all over the place at the moment. and i think JLD and i.vamp or crossin over for an issue or two. so there will be cohessive structure soon. but i hope only to a minimum. because if things become all together then look what happens to marvel. you almost have to pick up EVERY SINGLE TITLE to know whats going on on their front and theyre comics are EXPENSIVE to boot. marvel is just outrageous. so yaaa i hope DC keeps it to a reasonable cohesion limit, as it were.
